Will Telltale Kill Clementine?

It is the third season, and presumably the last if this is to work like a trilogy. So we have to ask, I know a lot of people were concerned about the death of Clementine in 'No Going Back', but now we have a third season and two protagonists, Clementine may be expendable. I don't know about the future of The Walking Dead, but a fourth season could potentially be pushing it (unless they start a new series altogether). So, I have a feeling that the final episode could potentially be about either Javier or Clementine making it out alive.

I feel like, Clementine will becoming determinant, only being alive or dead due to our choices in both Season 1 and Season 2. But what do you think? Will Telltale finally kill Clementine?

  • I really hope not. I spent (and will spend) way too much time shaping her into the person I want her to be just to feel like it went to waste.

  • Actually i don't think they will kill Clem. The story began with Clem and i think it will end with Clem again.

  • I believe they will. In a sacrificial way like Lee. Do I want that? No.

  • No one is safe in The Walking Dead. That's what Kirkman once said and I think it wouldn't be a TWD franchise if Telltale decide to not follow that simple rule. That being said, is it possible for Clementine to die? Definitely. Will they do that? We don't know.

Btw. why is everyone assuming that Season 3 will be the last? I don't remember Telltale saying that it's the end of the road for this story.

  • Well, I feel like if her story comes to an end and they've done everything that they can do with her, I wouldn't mind her dying. She's a good character and I like her, but the series, in my opinion, can live without her as long as they continue to write other developed characters. She's never really been what stands out most for me in any of the seasons, anyway, so I can definitely see her being expendable if her importance shifts.

  • Nope, I doubt she'll die this season as Clementine is simply Telltale's Rick. She's going to be around for a long time.

  • Yeah but even Rick will die eventually. If not from a bite or bullet than because of his age or any other natural cause.

  • If she does die it will be the last scene of episode 5. No way they will kill her off before then.

  • I don't really think so, as I think they will most likely continue the story along with Clementine growing up. At least I think that's what they're for, then again I could be wrong but even in season 1 Clementine growing up was the main objective and story. I think they plan to continue it.

  • I know that, but I don't expect Clementine to leave any time soon especially in TWDG's third season :P

  • Me neither but I guess we will see. We've also thought that Lee might make it to a potential Season 2 but they've wanted to kill him from the very beginning. :D

  • I thought it was more like Lee was the Rick and Clem was the Carl? Since Kirkman himself revealed Rick will die at some point and Carl will take over as TWD's main protagonist, at least in the comics.

  • Yeah it'd be more bitter than Luke.

  • I'm actually more inclined to think that Javier won't make it to the end. Especially if he's a really likeable character. It's Clementine's story and she'll continue to live and suffer and lose people time and time again.

  • Eventually they will. But I don't think they will in Season 3.

  • I'm assuming it's the last because they haven't confirmed a fourth.

  • They haven't confirmed the third one either until the end of Season 2. To be honest, neither they've confirmed that there will be a Season 4 nor that Season 3 will be the last so it's hard to say how it'll be.

  • I don't think they will kill off Clementine at least not for awhile here is what my theories are:

    1. We end up switching protagonist possibly Javier or someone else.
    2. Javier dies in a similar situation that happened to Lee and Clementine is one again on her own.
  • I don't think they will. I wouldn't want that to happen anyway. =P

I'll probably wait until the entire season is available on disc before I purchase it, and even then, I'll scan different forums and online summaries to see whether or not Telltale killed off Clementine. And no, I don't care if that's cheating. The people who believe Clementine needs to die are the same sadistic idiots who clamor for AJ to be put down. With Kirkman now involved with the game, I'm terrified he'll grant their nihilistic cravings for murder and despair.

i am a major fan of clementine, this game got me invested in the comics unvoiced however i still thank that tv show is trash. The point is that; i don't won't telltale games, to lite us thank. She is invisible like rick. from the comics who never dies i don't how many times i read the comics. that her was close but made out just in time like glean. until he died in the comics about where the 6th season of the tv show, of its season finally takes place. The thing with clementine; that made the walking dead season 1 a sacess that there made 2 other seasons base on her atlas in season 2 not sure about the 2 pc thing. telltale forgotten they own rates that they made before back to the future the game. I'm not mad at them of seeing walking dead the making of the game. however it is really sad to see.

that is my 2 cents from Wright Micah

  • Carl protagonist? I AM LEAVING THE COMICS IF THAT HAPPENS

  • I'd cry harder at Clementine's death than I EVER did at Lee's.

It was painful enough to watch Lee die, but now that I've known of Clementine's character for four years, that would just kill me.

  • It makes sense for Clem to be killed since there are two protagonists. Instead of making Javier exactly like Lee/Luke whereas he gives his life to save her, they could make him our vessel of vengeance once our beloved Clem has been murdered.

  • I honestly hope less main characters die this time around. It's ridiculous how many were killed off in the previous seasons, s2 especially. Toning down Clementine's "everyone who touches me dies" thing would be nice in season 3, deaths are starting to lose their impact.

    Oh give over

If anything telltale have killed more than Kirkman, the only character who survives season 2 apart from clementine is a baby. Everyone else leaves her or dies (or potentially dies). Rick in the show and comics has a decent sized group with many characters having been around for a long time

I'm fairly certain Telltale Games likes making money. So Clem is probably safe.

  • Killing her is bad storytelling

  • Same situation with comic Rick. Kirkman said one day he will die, same with Clem. One day she'll die, if they continue the series then yeah she could die one day. But just all speculation. Also depends on if telltale think they can do a series without her or not
