Hello. I purchased the Sam and Max DVD and installed the game. I get this error:

  • Hi,

I'm just here to tell you that I received my DVD today, and I had the same problem. The patch fixed it for me as well.
It's a bit of a bummer that I now have to keep a copy of the patch and don't have it all in that one litte package as I hoped to, but what the heck.
Thanks for your fast service though, I sure wish all companies/programmers would care for their customers as much as you do!! Gives me a warm, fuzzy ... max-like feeling inside ;)

    Greetings from Germany
  • I have a retail version of the game and am having the "blank disk" syndrome.

Tried the work around described and it worked once. However, once the game was saved, I can't get it to run again. (Really strange!)

I sent SecuRom an analysis file. Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

If anyone's interested, Bioshock works fine! This game has an newer version of SecuROM ( than the Sam & Max DVD ( and apparently they have fixed whatever the cause was, in newer versions.

I must say that both SecuROM and you at Telltale have taken care of this issue very well. This is how support should work. :)

Oh, and by the way, I love Sam & Max and I'm really looking forward to Season Two! You already have a customer here!

If it was not for SecuROM this would have never been an issue anyway. Telltale is great however but I do hate Securom with a passion. Oh well off to play more sam and max thanks for the patch.
  • Hmm, I just purchased a RETAIL DVD box! (It's got the image from the 2-CD box, but is a DVD)
So if I experience this error, which patch should I use?

Where can I get the patch?[/B]

It's extremely important to use the right patch installer!!!

If you use the wrong installer, you'll get 'Insert the correct disk' errors as the executable is looking for the disk you didn't buy. If this does happen, come back here and download the correct installer.

If you purchased the DVD case from Telltale Games directly, download and install this patch (43.1mb).

If you purchased the 2-CD box published by The Adventure Company and sold at retail stores such as, Best Buy, Walmart, etc, download and install this patch (43.3mb).

    Ok thanks :)
Although I would have thought the first one, since it's a DVD and not CD's.
Then again.. I can always try the other one, if this one won't work, right?
(Boy, they are fast to reply here, she thinks to herself)

Now I'm from scandinavia, and wondered if maybe a new DVD box have been shipped to retail shops WITH the patch on?
Or is it, that we just get the fancy bright colored box with a DVD instead of that brownish one? :D
  • Sorry to bump this, but I'm really curious as to why, we get a DVD box, but with the other image on....
  • The first picture in Seg's post is the bonus disc we ship out to customers who buy the season set from us as downloads. It's completely separate from Jowood/The Adventure Company's release.

They ship CD-ROMs in the US and DVDs in Europe, both using the same cover art. The content is the same either way on their releases.
  • Ohhh thanks, didn't know that - nice to live in europe then, lol.
But cool, so I'll just go with the patch from The Adventure Company. :)
