iOS episode 2-5 download SOLUTION [unofficial]

Hurray, episode 2 finally came out!

...except, I'm having major difficulties downloading episode 2. I'm not sure what the issue is but some advice would be nice:

First, im in china. Second, I normally don't have iTunes download problems, but with the walking dead, each failed download attempt restarts the progress back to 0, unfortunately not saving any previous downloaded packets. Third, the error message repeatedly says 'I need to be connected to the Internet to download ...'. I'm connected to the Internet, tried multiple locations, all to no end. Is it server side?

I've downloaded up to 10+% multiple times to the point where if the packets were saved, I should have episode 2 by now. The connection drops at random speeds, random percentages, although it seems to drop the most between 10-25%. I haven't past 52% as of yet.

I figured, since I've waited this long, I don't mind waiting a few more days for episode 2, but to have the option to download it and not work is more infuriating than a non disclosed release date. Suggestions would be nice (iPad reset doesn't work. Don't want to redownload app due to losing game saves)

    I'm having the same problem here in California. I'm on an iPad 3 and everytime I try to download Episode 2, I get about 0-20% and it says, "Internet Connection Failed" when my internet connection is fine. Help TellTale Support!

    I too am having the same problem here in california,I have gotten as far as 70 % but thats the best so far.is there anyway for us to download direct from Itunes to our computers?

    I'm from germany and i've the same problem on my iPad 3 32GB Wifi.
    I tried 2 different WLANs... at home 32.000kbit and at work...
    My best result was something at 90% so far... But mostly it stopps before 10...20% or even before 1%.

    I'm using iOS 6 Beta 4 but i'm sure this isn't the problem.
    I think the others here don't use iOS 6 ^^?

    It really makes no fun to wait for something that turns out to be not downloadable even days after the release... i wouldn't have preordered
    the whole Season if i would have known this before.

    Yep, same issue here...and what's worse is I actually bought the iOS version because I was having the same issues downloading Episode II on PC a while ago. I've put...what...roughly $45 on The Walking Dead, can't get Episode II to download on iOS and just like Ep. II on PC, Episode III will take non-stop retrying for an entire week to finish. Do I regret getting the iOS season pass? **** yes. Should've waited to see if it was having the same download issues as PC. Telltale, please do us all a favor and go back to separate downloads with future releases...this internal downloading shit is driving me insane.

    Yes i totally aggree with you. Each episode should be one app...

    I even belive that this modle lower the sells... Because nobody knows when a new episode gets released! If there's a new App everyone knows and noone would have these problems.
    I bought all Back to the Future episodes and everythink worked fine because they were in seperate apps.

    Now it worked at the third WLAN ^^ no idea if it was luck or if the servers work better now or are under lower usage... Hopefully with episode 3 the download will work from the beginning.

    Same things happening to me. I once got a far as 96% which is really annoying. Is there a fix? It says I have a connection problem when I clearly don't.

    I can't download episode 2 on my PC ! The download seems to fail everytime at 52%. Then it restarts at 48%, and again, and again...
    I've restarted the game but it didn't helped.
    I've stopped my antivirus software and killed almost everything network-related in the task manager. I've even tried to attach my PC with a network cable, suspecting my wifi connection to be responsable.
    Please, help me !

    Edit : I finally managed to download episode 2, and episode 3, by bringing my PC to a place with a better internet connexion. But even there, I'd to restart the download multiple times to success.

    seriously there is no way to download ep2 on idevices?
    im tired to download it for 10000 times!!!!

    Today I finally downloaded the Ep2 after a week trying!

    After several tentatives I noticed that some times that the connection error message appears my iphone (4S) lose the wifi connection and my phone was very very hot.

    So I connect the dots... maybe the problem is related with overheating.
    It's make sense because:
    - The download is big (around 650MB) and intense wifi use warm the phone
    - The game is running (3d effects) in the background while the ep2 is downloaded
    - Normally the phone is connected to and power source.

    All of these 3 actions combined makes the phone gets too warm.

    Coincidence or not, i decided to remove my phone plastic cover and put the phone in a fresh place. So i could download the ep2 again with success!
    (some times I holded the phone to help the heat dissipation)

    So if you still facing problems to download the Ep2 with your iphone try to do this!

    PS: sorry by the grammar errors, english is not my primary language.

    My Macbook Pro downloads episode 2 until 99% and has done it several times.... Im soon demanding af refund.... Or that you at least post the freakin abillity to download episodes on your webpage instead of inside the Game only....

    I bought the multipack, and when I go to get ep2 it says coming soon, no option to download. Contacted TTG but to no avail, no response. I have contacted Apple support to complain about these crooks. Waiting to see now if I here back from them.

    I'm experiencing the same problem. I'm getting to around 80-90% and then cuts off saying lost Internet connection. I really need help or advice, I have the iPhone 4 with iOS 6, I'm from the United Kingdom if that makes any difference. Plz help me!!

    *sigh* Can anyone help me with this very same issue on my iPad 3?

    Just bought EP 2-5 and it always gives me that lost connection error as I try to download EP2.

    Same problem. Bought episode 2 on my ipad ,keeps on downloading and im always stock on 99%. Been 3 days. Tried it for nth time, nada! grrrr!

    Same issues on my iphone4s. Tried downloading episode 2 on wifi and 3G, actually got to 99% on the 3G download then failed. It said I lost Internet connection which is BS. What's the fix ???????

    What the hell is going on with this game? Not one person has managed to download episodes 2-5 properly and we have all paid for them. Absolutely shocking. I wish I had read these comments before buying, it would have put me right off!!! Have telltale made no effort to post a solution to these problems? If not I'm beginning to think they are a bunch of scammers after everyone's money. I have emailed them and am hopefully awaiting a reply. If no reply by tomorrow I will be contacting apple too.

    Ps I am in same boat, 4th gen iPad, uk and not downloading! Telltale, get yer backsides in gear and sort this....

    I want my fucking money back I bought ep 2 cause I believed in you telltale games ( even with no iPhone 5 optimization in sight) but I'm dissapointed release a fix or something or I swear I will cross the line even for 5$

    Apple issues refunds, and TTG is working on the fix.
    Since you seem to want a refund, just contact apple.

    I can't download episode 2 either and can't view the sticky on here due to not having privaliges? really need to get this sorted or i will be asking for a refund which is a shame as i was really enjoying this game

    Yes but isn't good way that people have to such this kind of situation. The game would be fantastic I liked first episode, the way of who created and manage the game and the situation in particular is very bad. Fix it or stop to sell episodes that aren't able at the download.

    Are you kidding? You so called "moderators" show up once a month and ignore the ongoing problems. There has been an obvious issue with the iOS version of the bundle packs for multiple titles since at least January and yet your company keeps selling them without so much as a mention of the problem. Then you guys ignore everyone who purchases them and has been asking for help. And your wise solution is "Apple issues refunds"? How about the better solution of Tell Tale stops ripping off consumers and get some representatives who have some common sense?

    Does it not show the "GET" button or download just stops after pressing the GET button?

    Exactly the same problem. Downloading is really-really slow, and I have to leave macbook working overnight. And every morning I see 99% of Episode 2 downloaded.

    Please do something, it is not internet connection problem, as I see. I have an 40mbps channel, and trying different places and providers with the same effect.

    Telltale doesn't care that there are major issues with their game as long as they are still raking in our money. It doesnt seem that they have made any attemt to fix these issues. They claim to have fixed all the problems when they obviously havent. How this became game of the year is beyond me. Scam of the year maybe.

    How to fix connectivity issues on ipad/iphone:

    1. Go to your settings menu and set Auto-Lock to "Never"
    2. Download Hotspot Shield VPN on App Store
    3. Run Hotspot and follow the instructions
    4. Enter your game and download the episodes. NOTE: Do not perform background download, otherwise it won't work

  • I had the same problem and tried VPN but didn't work, but I finally fixed it via resetting network settings
