What is better for Kenny?

When it comes to dealing with Duck and the boy? Is killing both for him? Letting him do it? Bit of both? I'm working on my "best" playthrough and wondering which of these is best for Kenny. Personally I think shooting Duck yourself and letting him kill the boy is the best solution, but I wanna hear your opinions on this and reasons in case I'm missing anything. I know the best solution and choice in the game is pretty much all subjective but still.

  • I killed both myself and he seemed to appreciate that. Its maybe not the best for him, since he is an adult. What would he have done, if Lee was not there? But my Lee was a very strong person thanks to Clementine, so he was ready to do that for Kenny, since he just had to watch how his wife shot herself.

But maybe It would be better for him, so that he could end it? And you shoot the boy in the attic, since he is not Duck...

    ... Poor Duck.
  • Kenny couldn't kill either Duck (quack) nor Fivel

I think killing them yourself is best, by that you help kenny
  • I made him take out Duck. Me killing Fivel was returning the favor.
  • I also did what you did, I killed Duck and let Kenny kill Fivel. I thought that it would be traumatic for him to kill his son just after his wife committed suicide. I let him kill Fivel because I felt that it would give him some closure for Duck's death.

On my second playthrough I chose to kill Fivel myself and I actually LOL'ed when they gave me the choice of shooting him or smashing his head in with the spanner or foot. I chose the spanner cause I didn't want to waste bullets :p
  • i did what you did, i felt like shooting your own son is just to hard a thing to do for a parent (you could say Katjaa proved that) but i got Kenny to kill Fivel so that he would't see every child zombie as Duck and have that be a crippling issue for him at a later time, especially because personally it would have been easy to kill Fivel myself but not for Kenny so i think it helped him a bit
  • I shot both Duck and the boy. It might have been better for Kenny to shoot the boy in the attic so that he won't become prone to killing zombie children, but I did it because I felt bad for him.
  • I couldn't let the father kill his own flesh and blood, so I did it for him.
When I saw Fivel in the attic and Kenny said that he didn't know if he could kill him, I decided to help him do it so that it would help him get over his trauma. (in a way)
  • Added poll, should have done that in the first place honestly.
  • Killing Duck yourself is the right thing to do, no questions. Like Lee says, no parent should ever have to do that to their child.

However, having Kenny kill Fivel is the best option. Kenny was so devastated by what happened to his family, so pushing him to put that poor kid, even though he was already dead and just a walker, out of his misery is what Kenny needed. If you choose to give Kenny the gun, it will even say "You helped Kenny."
  • I took care of Duck for him. As soon as he said in the attic "Couldn't do it before, can't do it now" I pretty much knew that I had to help him do it. It helps him accept Duck's death and prove to himself that he isn't weak enough to just fold whenever he sees a reminder of his family.
