Four in February

I know people don't like me linking to Kotaku, but there's an interesting post there about a 'Four in February' initiative. Here's the page link

In short, the idea behind 'Four in February' is to finish four games in February.

...and that's it.

It's basically just a simple drive to get people to finish four games they've been meaning to get round to. No actual rules, just pick four games and do your damnedest to finish them all.

I've already picked my four, so I'll list 'em here.

- Halo: Combat Evolved - Anniversary Edition (XBox 360 - never got past the Library in the original version, so it'll be interesting to see if I can do it this time)
- Fable: The Lost Chapters (on Steam, since I picked it up and promptly did nothing with it)
- Ratchet & Clank 3 (from the PS3 trilogy - despite finishing the PS2 version I never got round to the PS3 one despite it being the best of the trilogy)
- Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Steam again. HATED this game first time round, but I want to see how hilariously bad the story is).

And if I finish all four, I'll celebrate by playing The Force Unleashed II. *shudder*

So yeah, that's Four in February. Anyone else feel like joining in?

  • Actually Beat (pun intended) The World Ends With You. Dayum, that was fun. Cave and TWD, those I could beat.
  • Well, this is unexpected. In the last 24 hours, I've started and finished a game that I didn't remember I had, knew nothing about, and didn't expect to be playing anytime soon. And it was a lot of fun.

    I just beat Radiant.
  • Well, I'm never going to get The Force Unleashed finished, mostly because I just didn't enjoy it at all. So I'll swap in Hamlet or the Last Game Without MMORPG Features, Shaders or Product Placement.

    - Fable: The Lost Chapter - Abandoned
    - Hamlet or The Last Game Without MMORPG Features, Shaders or Product Placement - Completed!
    - Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 - Completed!
    - Lego Lord of the Rings - Completed!
    - Ratchet & Clank 3 - Completed!
    - Star Wars: The Force Unleashed - Abandoned

And with that, I'm done! Phew.

I still haven't finished Quest for Glory I and don't think I will by the end of the month (it was quite ambitious to think I'd get both QfG I and II done anyway), so I've decided to swap out Larry 6 for it. I'm working on that now.
  • I'd be surprised if I'm close enough to the end of any game to finish a fourth before the end of the day. But I came close!
  • It's almost March and I just completed my initial list:

    Vessel - Beaten
On the Rain Slick Precipice of Darkness, Episode 1 - Beaten
    Chaos on Deponia - Beaten
The Cave - Beaten (seen all endings)

I haven't gotten all achievements for any of them, but if I've learned anything from Faerie Solitaire (which I got for free) it is that achievements that are no fun to get is just not worth the time invested.

BONUS: 100%-ed Psychonauts on Steam and beaten and 100%-ed Lego Harry Potter: Years 5-7 on 3DS.

UNRELATED BONUS: My daughter was born on the 16th. Wife's pregnancy completed.

Well, I just finished Leisure Suit Larry 6, so I (just barely - only one hour left in February here) managed to finish four: King's Quest V, Leisure Suit Larry 5, Police Quest 2, and Leisure Suit Larry 6.
  • 2/4

oh well, better than 0/4 which it would have been otherwise
  • 2/4 here as well, my MMORPG's just take up all my interest. :p
