  • Ok, first point, I'm not a big supporter of Kenny but I think it was an interesnting charatcher. About the threat I agree that Kenny did not died there in the alley or in the building or whatever. At first I thought he did, but with all the discussion going around I started thinking about it and hearing things. So, my conclusion, TT wasn't going to have Kenny do an all speech about not giving up andminutes later having him basically give up... Also you enver hear Kenny scream, only Ben if you left him alive). Continuing this, and now for the most compelx exlination, If you save Ben, Kenny will want to redem himself for what he did to Ben for all the story and will want to shoot him, but at the same time will not want to continue with Lee, since Lee basically saved someone he consideres killed his family, and also he will be ahsamed for all the Ben/Kenny situation when they return to the Marsh house, so if you notice it good, kenny basically looks towards the alley before saying for lee to leave, implying he discovered a way out, where he could run from the walkers. He would want to continue without that group that knows a version of him he's ashamed and where he keeps very bad memories. Also noticing the way Kenny looks at lee before leaving indicates that he's very sadned for leaving him, and people who are about to kill themselfs are not sad, are relieved. he's sad because he wants to leave the group but at the same time respects Lee and will miss him. I didn't play the version where you let Ben die, but I'm guessing in that scenario Kenny is not ashamed and is in a very good terms with Lee, because he killed Ben and that's what enny wanted, so kenny never got confronted by Ben, and was never humiliated in front of the group. In this scenario I'm guessing Kenny leaves just because he knows Christa is pregnant and he compares Christa, Omid and the baby to him, Katjia and Duck, and he didn't wanted another family destroyed so he saved Christa and fought for his life because no one could pull him up.
So CONCLUDING ah ah I think kenny is alive and how he acts with Clem will be based on if you saved ben or if you didn't. Just my opinion as a Psychology student ;)

  • I think that the PERFECT end to Kenny's character arc would be that he got out of the alleyway/dark building, that he kept on fighting, that he never gave up, and even if he died later he got out of there because he kept on fighting, because he wanted to help the ones he cared about, and because he NEVER GAVE UP till the end.

It's not a question of "giving up" or "stop fighting" when you get overpowered by zombies with no way out. It's just the way the zombie apocalypse goes. This thread leads to the "Kenny's Alive" discussion, again.

  • Yes, but the problem is, how would you be able to tell? As in, how are they supposed to get this message across? If you find him as a walker, then you could just chalk it up to the walker escaping, but if you find him as a corpse with a bullet through the brain then it could be chalked up to two things- walker again but got shot by somebody, or suicide, but suicide would be the worst way to end Kenny's arc, especially after the "You're not supposed to just give up" speech a few minutes before.

    • Totally agree, and I'm not saying Kenny's alive, dead, or undead, but what I'm saying is he got out of that building/alleyway, and i agree with the suicide thing, because the wiki says he kills himself(if u give bullets) but i think that's ridiculous just because Kenny made that huge speech, and I would lose a lot of respect for Kenny if he did kill himself.

  • he should remain dead. And if he turns out to be alive somehow in S2, it should only be till the start of episode 1, then Clem sees him and immediately kills him in brutal fashion because being the scumbag he is, he left Clem to die in season 1.

Don't try to fix whats not broken.

That might be how you'd want to see Kenny's fate "explored", but other fans feel differently. I'm sure Telltale will come up with an adjustable scenario influenced by the player's decisions in S1 that will satisfy everyone.

      • I don't think it's possible to ever satisfy everyone, regardless of a situation. But yea i'm sure they will do their best. But really, TT should leave his arc just the way it is. It was perfectly done IMO, with just the right amount of ambiguity. "Exploring his fate" shouldn't have even been done IMO because it sparked alot of ideas from alot of people of what could've happened to him after he disappeared.

I just personally like his arc better as it is now, him being a douchebag and then trying to redeem himself at the end.

        • I just personally like his arc better as it is now, him being a douchebag and then trying to redeem himself at the end.

That might be a satisfactory conclusion for you, but it's not for a significant majority of the fanbase who want to see where Kenny finally ended up, for good or bad.

All I'm saying is, please don't flood this forum with snarling diatribes if Kenny were to appear alive and well in S2.

          • LMAO significant majority? I highly doubt that. there is definitely alot of people who want him in season 2, but from what i've seen on these forums, it's mostly kenny superfans. And before TT said anything about his fate being explored there wasn't nearly as many people who thought he was alive as there is now, from what i remember. People liked the ambiguity. It gave people something to talk and debate about, and it is/was probably even the most discussed topic on these forums. When everyone eventually finds out what happened to him, it could possibly weaken his story arc drastically. Many people liked that there were a couple things to question after season 1, and I am just one of the many. I and others i'm sure, just liked how his story ended, and don't want some "miracle" to keep him alive detract from his heroic demise. If he was able to get away, it would make his actions less heroic.

And Why would you think I would "flood this forum with snarling diatribes" if kenny was alive? Just because someone doesn't think it is a good idea doesn't mean they would try to force their opinions on everybody else. After all, we aren't like SOME (not all) of the stubborn kenny megafans, who constantly try to convince everyone to love kenny.

There's been more than one poll posted here asking the fans whether they'd want to see Kenny dead or alive in S2, and most of the votes leaned towards "alive". I'm not making up figures here, there's legitimate evidence there are more fans of the series who want to see Kenny make a comeback than the ones who'd rather see him dead and rotting. In any case, it definitely isn't enough to warrant a "LMAO".

  • Wait, what? "Kenny left Clem to die in season 1"??!!
    When?

Clementine knows Kenny well. He was the best friend of her guardian. I find it highly unlikely, even in a zombie apocalypse, that a 9-10 year old girl would just murder off the bat (no pun intended) :) a person she knows. (Though I admit that she has gone through a lot. That would be totally against what I get the idea Lee was trying to teach her.

    • In HIS game, he wasn't able to get Kenny to come with him (or, alternatively, told Ken to fuck himself), whereas in OTHER games, like mine and, I'm assuming, yours, Kenny was Lee's staunchest ally and REFUSED to let Lee go alone. But I agree that even though she might hate Kenny, depending on Lee's relationship with him in Season 1, I can't see her murdering him. She's not a murderer.

    • I forget the exact time, but if you don't agree with him there is a point where Lee pleads with kenny to help Clem, but he doesn't help. It's not similar to how Ben doesn't help her. I'm sure could find it on youtube somewhere if you want to see it.

      • I only remember in St. John's farm where if you choose not to kill larry Kenny doesn't help you (Lilly has to do it), and I had to fight him in the train, but I don't remember that. i wasn't the biggest fan of Kenny, but he went with me in episode 4/5, since I shoot his son (This might sound weird for who hasn't played the game ah ah).

        • He wont go with Lee to save Clem if you don't try to save duck in ep.1 or if you side with Lilly on something, and if I remember correctly there is also another situation where she needs help but kenny doesn't help her out of spite towards Lee.

And there are a few times he leaves lee to die if you don't agree with him. If you play a run-through of the game where you don't side with him at all, he will screw you over and leave you to the walkers constantly. He basically tries to get you killed every chance he gets

      • If you haven't agreed with Kenny for a lot of the game, or if you've tried to act neutral or stay out of arguments between him and Lily, then that can happen.. though, you can still convince him by saying Clem's like family.

        • I know. I have played through it in different ways. But in most outcomes if you don't agree with him on almost everything, he will leave Lee to die pretty much any chance he gets. And will also leave Clem when in trouble unless you play through in a certain way.
