Are you Best Friends with *****?

Are you Sarah's best apocalyptic buddy ever?

I said I was, but I couldn't promise.

  • She seemed nice so I said we could be friends I do regret the pinkie swear though.

  • I thought she was really weird and didnt exactly trust her, but I said I was her friend and pinky swore on it. Thought she wouldnt help me otherwise.

  • I really wanted those medical supplies and was worried I wouldn't get them or she would alert the adults if I didn't play nice. Besides, what harm could it do to have an ally amongst this group, even if she's a little sheltered?

I'm sure Telltale is already busy answering that question for later episodes and I'll find some serious reasons to regret being so quick to befriend this girl.

  • she probably going to be one of those nice sheltered characters but goes insane later because she can't handle the reality of things.

  • I did and i am pretty sure i am gonna regret it later, how can´t she realize what´s happening?

  • I agreed and pinky-swore from more of a strategic stand point. As her dad said, she's not entirely stable and that pinky-swear may come back and bite me in the ass.

  • I didn't check if it counted us as friends, but I did say "I might have to do things that will hurt you, I've warned you". Then I didn't pinky swear with her.

  • I was confused and let the timer run out.

  • AT first i didn't want to be her friend cause she was weird. Then i thought about two things.

First of all i needed those medical supplies, and i'm pretty sure she wouldn't help me out if i din't swear.
Second of all it's really nice to meet other kids in a zombie acopalypse ... Even more if you're a kid yourself !

So i pinky swear but i kinda regret it.

  • i said no, then was forced to say yes anyway to get the supplies to continue playing. wtf telltale! why even have it as a choice? so pointless....

  • I just wanted to get Clem some bandages. I didn't care if I had to 'become' her friend.

  • No.Accepting the "friendship" was more of a strategic point,so I decided to use Clem's sudden new power of manipulation to get what I need.

  • I'm pretty sure that I denied every single 'become my friend' request from Sarah and I did get the medical supplies. So there is a choice :)

  • Indeed, I was like sure whatever we can be friends just help me.

When I thought about it though, I'm like what's the worse that can happen? Theres a young girl who hasn't seen a girl her age in forever and she's being overly sheltered by her UNDERSTANDABLY overprotective father, is it really so wrong for her to desire a friend close to her age and is it really so wrong for her to reach out for one if she can?.......She still got odd tastes in books though.

  • I saw no hurt in that. She looked like she needed a friend and I thought it would do no harm. I wonder if I will regret doing that pinkie swear, though.

  • when i said no (forget exactly how i said it) she said she wasn't going to help unless i did

  • I did though promise though only cause she wasnt satisfied with a yes though i didnt pinkie swear... I felt really uncomfortable in that scene she creeped me out

  • Im putting my money on having you choose to save somebody you absolutely love and her because of the pinky swear thing.

  • I had Clem do the pinky swear routine. She was desperate, needed medical supplies, and did not need the little girl yelling for her dad.

I didn't get a 'this girl is disturbed' vibe though. I just think she's a little nerdy and kind of sheltered. I don't think she's going to turn out to be a bad person, just someone who doesn't have the same skillset as Clem because A) Lee wasn't looking out for her, and B) Dad didn't get Chuck's excellent advice on raising children in the zombie apocalypse.

Going forward, I'm planning on having Clem ignore dad's advice to stay away from her. And if there is an option to do so, I'll have Clem try to prepare her for the real world.

  • Hell No , she seemed odd like something's wrong up stairs .. I just said I was her friend to get her help to be honest & I didn't pinky promise neither ..

  • I played it silently and still got the peroxide, boy was that episode intense.

  • I went in not trusting her, and mostly interested in getting her not to rat me out (not to manipulate, though), but she won me over with her detached and odd behavior. She was alone and confused because no one wanted her to know what was going on. We only have her dad's word that it would hurt her, so we're stuck taking the word of a potentially over the protective dad. Who we can't exactly blame, I guess, but it's still rough on a kid.

Clem still remembers what it's like to be alone, so she probably empathizes with Sarah.

  • I just stayed quiet when she asked. Didn't know if I'd still be there the next day so wasn't trying to get the poor girls hopes up by saying I'd be her "Thunder Buddy". And it worked because she still gave me the goods and didn't rat me out to her pops.

  • I went Drake on her "No new friends, no new friends, no no no no new friends.."

  • I just decided to treat her the same way that Lee would have treated Clementine. I guess you could say that I was mirroring their relationship through Sarah.

  • I thought it was a sound move from a strategic viewpoint. It definitely has the potential to come back and bite me in the ass, but until then, it benefits my standing with the group. Carlos might not like me, but I have a feeling he'd think twice about trying anything against his precious daughter's bestie. Coupled with my knowledge about Rebecca's situation, I have a point of leverage over the only two people in the group who actively dislike me.

Is that stone cold? That's probably stone cold. I'm sorry.

It's not like I'm totally expecting to just use Sarah as a tool, though. I really do hope we have opportunities for genuine bonding in future episodes; even if she's a little "off", she seems sweet and generally harmless. We'll see where that takes us.

  • Why not, like really? The more, the merrier I say!! :D

  • I got no issues being her friend and pinky swearing to it.

Heck, I even decided I was being sincere when I did so.

The level of naivety Sarah had was mind boggling to me. I immediately pegged her as being sheltered to a degree that I didn't believe was possible 2+ years into the apocalypse. I'll be her very best friend by doing the Chuck routine. That girl needs to get out from under her daddy's thumb and learn how to start protecting herself or else she will die.

I figure it will be fun, especially since it will necessarily involve her rebelling against her father's wishes. The father that is supposedly a doctor yet can't tell a dog bite from a Walker bite. I can accept the fear and hostility of the other members. Frankly, I was treated one hell of a lot better than I expected overall. However, that man could have done more. Should have done more. Either he was incompetent or deliberately tried to kill me, either option puts him at the top of my dislike list. Tearing her daughter away from that guys control will definitely provide some amusement.

  • Anyone else think while the whole pinky swear scene was going on that there was just something eerie about Sarah? Soon as I did it, I felt as though she is gonna stab Clem in the back, literally for something. Regardless of that, I did become her 'friend', well, a work in progress. I told her straight up that they were friends because Clem didn't know her, and then gave her a warning before succumbing to besties for life.

Despite the eeriness and age she made me think of how Clem was when she was all happy.

  • That pinky swear is going to come back to bite me hardcore.

    I have two Clem's:

    1) Yes Clem's accept her friendship with not think of the repercutions that will come later (with her dad or even her she's so much Creepy) my clem was really Scared for her bite and even more Scared of accepting her friendship (Totally weird scene) even with the pinky promise...

    2) An again she swears to be her friend just for the peroxide... this time, she pratically say no to her face & the psicotic girl came back to the if we are not friends I cant help ya... F#ck it... yeah ok were friends give the peroxide pinky promise b¡tc#.... with crazy medic supplies....

That pinky promises are going to bite her down so hard......

  • Or she dies and Carlos goes mental.

  • I pinky-swore to be her friend, and I was sincere.

I'll be the best kind of friend she could have; one who does everything possible to ensure her survival even if it makes her hate me.

  • Yes, yes, yes. Chuck is exactly who I was thinking of. Except I don't imagine the dynamic is quite the same since Carlos is a bit bigger than Clem and might get bodily defenestraty.

As for him being a poor doctor, I don't think that holds water. The bite was torn because she was being mauled, not just bit, and walkers maul stuff, too. It was pretty difficult to make out what tore that huge gash in her arm, especially since some humans have sharper canines than others. Mine're fairly pointy, myself.
