Remember when Kenny suggested that we leave a crippled Omid behind because Omid was slowing down Kenny's quest to find a boat he could fuck? Let's talk about that.

  • No it does. I think you just have to ask Kenny if they could stop for a while for Omid to rest up. This is his response.

  • Right, they didn't end up using that line when Omid was on the couch, they used it at the beginning of the episode where they're walking down the street. That's what I was talking about.

  • Oh, he helped me there too. I even got the Bro Speech from him at the end of 4. He was my best friend. But I still can't see ANY justification for leaving Lee under the door just because of the Larry choice. That's one of two things that I don't think can be justified in any way and just makes him look like a huge prick.

It's determinant. He helped me. Still for those that he didn't help, I suppose he thought it wasn't worth the risk to save someone he didn't particularly like. Not that I'm justifying it.

  • It's actually on the street before the bells ring and the walkers attack. Christa says that they have to stop for Omid and let him rest, while Kenny retorts that they could just leave him. Then you get to be neutral, side with Christa, or with Kenny.

Or not say anything. Silence is always a valid option.

Hey there fellow Kenny fans, i just wanted to share what i thought have been the best theory about his survival thus far. I'll copypaste the text so it will be easier to read, but will also post the link to the thread right here if you want it. Obviously spoilers ahead. Click for thread

"So just something I've cooked up, replaying Episode 5 recently. Here's my theory:
Kenny, being extremely angry fights through the horde after saving Christa / trying to save Ben. We know it's possible for people with a lot of anger to survive seemingly impossible encounters (think Tyreese), and like Kenny himself said: "I've got a lot of pain inside of me, Lee. I'd like to get at least some of it out."
He gets covered in gore, like Lee did, allowing him to freely travel through Savannah. Now, he knows the rest is going towards the Marsh House. It's pretty hard to miss. So he enters the Marsh House, where the Stranger gets the jump on him. Kenny is knocked unconscious and placed in the adjoining room, at which point the Stranger hears Lee entering and, well, we all know what happens then.
So, here's some actual proof to back this up!

    1) You can hear something falling prior to entering the hotel room. Additionaly, if you listen at the door before entering the room, you can very clearly hear something being dragged around.
Pretty self explanatory. You can hear the stranger dragging something into the adjoining room. Could be anything really, but it really sounds like a body, or an unconscious person.

    2) There's something fishy about the adjoining room.
Some players may have noticed this, but the game heavily implies that there could be something behind the door, but that in your rush to leave Savannah, you miss it. Unlike any other "invisible wall" door, you can actually interact with it, but can't open it because Clementine eggs you on to just go. It really intrigued me the first time around. I initially thought it would be the Stranger's zombified daughter, but I felt it really didn't make sense from a narrative perspective to just not show it. If it were the Stranger's daughter, why wouldn't we be allowed to see it?

    3) The Stranger is wielding Kenny's gun.
It really astonished me how many players, including me, missed this one. I never, ever see this mentioned anywhere. Check it out, here's Kenny wielding the gun [1] , and here's the Stranger's gun [2] . Looks pretty damn similar. In fact, it's the same model, up to the scratches on the barrel. For the record, this is the gun that Kenny takes off the couple that committed suicide in the bedroom. In both the Christa and Ben instance, he uses it to fight the horde. I think this is the most telling evidence that Campman and Kenny met.
Now, the gun may be a coincidence, but it's just so implied that there's something in the adjoining room. And to be honest, it really does make the most sense for it to be Kenny. Why else would they add that mysterious stuff in? Just like, why else would they say he was "lost to the horde" instead of died if he really just got eaten?
And there's something else! As you and Clem leave the hotel room, the camera pans onto Lee's forgotten walkie-talkie! The very distinct one, with the stickers on it. It seems like the perfect closure for Kenny. He wakes up in the adjoining room, and the Stranger's body and Lee's walkie-talkie tell him that he has succeeded!

The deal with Kenny is that he still blames himself for the death of Hershel's son. Like he says in Episode 3 if you talk him down, he thinks that Duck's death is his punishment for putting another man's son in the ground. Now, by reuniting Lee and Clem, he has basically redeemed himself, since he reunited a man with his family, so to say.

So after that, he goes off to survive on his own, eventually joining a group of survivors in a North Carolina mountain? A man can hope."

You have to set up a Gravatar account and then link it to your Telltalegames account (make sure to use the same email). You can from there choose your Gravatar avatar in the Telltalegames profile settings. If you want to switch the Gravatar avatar, just change it on the Gravatar website. • Yeah, saying the group should leave Omid was definitely cruel and in all my playthrough I always say that we should get a rest for a moment, I don't think the group could even get proper rest after leaving the motel (Lee had a nightmare, Kenny was driving, Katjaa was most certainly busy attending to Duck etc...)

However I'm not really angry at Kenny for saying that, at that time he's probably thinking something along those lines "This couple just came in, we know next to nothing about them and they're still around because we had a train and now they know we'll get a boat, they just want to leech off of us". If you look at it this way it's understandable that he's not exactly friendly, this is made worse by the fact his family died a few hours before that. By the end Omid&Christa become trusted companions so, I'm sure everyone consider that those events don't even matter anymore, water under the bridge.

If it were the other way around, though, you can bet for sure that Kenny wouldn't have just considered it "water under the bridge." Kenny was still accusing Omid and Christa of "looking out for Number 1...and Number 2--you know, yourselves" even after Crawford and, in my game, even after they went with me to find Clem and he didn't. Kenny has a bad habit of treating a lot of the people around him like crap on a regular basis and then calling them out for not having his back.

My first playthrough Kenny hated me yet I never ever got that scene, how do you trigger it ?

I don't really see your point, it's not like Kenny's been the only one to be kind of an asshole at that part, after all they were ALL on edge. In the backyard Christa acts like a bitch saying things like "well, work faster would ya" when they're all trying to find a way to enter the mansion while she's just sitting there, is that nice to you ? Christa is also just looking out for her and Omid when she votes to kill Ben, she says it herself.

They all did/say relatively bad things in Episode 3/4, which is perfectly understandable considering everythign is starting to fall apart, then they call it water under the bridge in Episode 5, no exceptions.

...Quite the high maintenance bunch you all are. Look, the mods are all aware Shaundi is trolling the thread on purpose just to cause other people to derail it. I'd appreciate it if instead of stooping to the low of personal insults towards her, you instead just ignore it and/or PM a mod and have us handle it. By derailing the thread, you just give her what she wants. She has already trolled the forums in other ways and we are prepared to handle it if she keeps it up.

We have already given her multiple warnings regarding her memes mocking Kenny for mourning the suicide/death of other characters, and she is on her last warning. No, the memes aren't cool, but they are just mocking a fictional character. I'm pretty sure she isn't mocking the literal act of mourning suicide. Instead of calling her out on it, you could always just ignore it and report it to a Mod via PM.

EDIT: Some of this is irrelevant. See the post below.

  • I have a question. Is Tyreese the guy in the tv show that survived when all of those walkers attacked the car? At first I thought he was going to just let the heard kill him because he was upset at his girlfriends death.

  • I'm not saying that Christa wasn't being a bitch or wasn't looking out for her own interests back then (although "work faster" is hardly on the same level as "let's just leave the cripple behind"). But Kenny behaves as though everyone owes him. Like he's the only one helping the group out and that anyone who doesn't support him is some ungrateful asshole who can't be trusted. Remember his exact quote about Molly: "What has she done for me lately?" in response to Lee pointing out that she saved his life out on the streets? I think my Lee said it best with "After everything, you're still a bastard, Kenny."

Yeah, up there it was one post from her, which was actually on topic. And what followed? Many many posts aimed at her. Pretty much offtopic. So who's responsible for the derailing? You know, there is that "Don't feed the trolls"-rule. So if people feel like she is trolling, don't react. But there are so many many responses everytime Shaundi writes anything whether on topic or not.

The suicide one is pretty borderline, maybe crossed it. But that's pretty much all there is, she can be accused of.

Oh, I'm not saying Kenny can't be an asshole BEFORE, I'm saying that whatever happens, everyone let their grudges go in Episode 5, whatever you do.

When you're stuck in the house and everyone just talk about the things that happened, the mood is clearly "let's forgive ourselves for the things we did". Even Kenny says something like "I'm sorry for all the pain I caused". Now it may not be enough for you, but for the characters it is since they pretty much all just let go of it.

    That's what I was saying :)

  • Yes, that's Tyresse. In the comics, he literally had walkers climbing on other walkers to get to him. He should've died. But he didn't, therefore, Kenny could also be alive.

  • edited January 2014

Actually, I think that was a line that Lee says to Kenny, not the other way around. I don't recall Kenny ever saying "sorry" for anything... I could be wrong though. But yeah, there was definitely a "let bygones be bygones" kind of attitude going on in the attic.

  • Eh, characters have positives and negatives. In the comics, Rick is an awful person. By Volume 13, I'm sure a lot of people would call him a murderer. Still, the good things he did outweighed the bad things he did. There's no justification for a lot of things that Kenny did, but in the end, he was one of the best guys around.

Actually, just checked again it is indeed Lee that says that, but Kenny answers with "You and me both, doc", so he means the same. Yes that's what I meant, whatever happens before this scene gives the feeling of "starting over from scratch" for the characters.

Though the players may not let go of their grudges as easily as the characters do, which I can understand.

  • She's calling Kenny a pussy for crying over his wife shooting herself. How is that not mocking the literal mourning of suicide? His wife killed herself, Kenny cried over her death, and she said he's a pussy for it. I'd say her actions are the definition of mocking someone for mourning the suicide of another. And, I understand that Kenny is a fictional character, but the people reading the posts aren't. Her posts might be a huge trigger for people who have dealt with someone they care about committing suicide. Pretty sure those individuals don't like being indirectly called a pussy for mourning a loved ones death. I think that's probably why people are having a huge issue with her spamming that on every thread related to Kenny.
