do you think petes gonna make it?

edited February 2014 in The Walking Dead

if you chose to save him and then in the preview for episode 2 theyre in what looks like a shed and they both look at a hacksaw, im preicting a crazy opening for episode 2 but i think petes gonna die from blood loss because they dont have any supplies at all the area that they are in and clementine wouldnt be able to help him get back to the cabin.he also wasnt seen at all in the preview.

  • I don't think Pete is long for this world, even if he survives the amputation by the time we find that shack it will be to late. Even if he survives the amputation, the bite, and Clem finds a way to get him back, he then will be in the care of an inept doctor.

  • Agreed on the "they will take too long to find the shed" part... Lee didn't took that look to cu down his arm, I'm saying 20 minutes? and it was too late... I think the same will happen to Pete

I really hope Pete is gonna make it, he is my favourite character from the cabin group. But assuming that Carlos is the doctor of the cabin group, a man that can't even distinguish a dog bite from a lurker bite i think his chances aren't that high after all:D

  • Im gonna go out on a limp here and say Yes he is gonna make it, Telltale knows its not impossible for someone to survive a leg amputation and people are tired of making choices that have no impact at all, Whats the point in saving him if he is gonna die 5 minutes later? Telltale has done this for a long time now its time for a change

    I think he is either:

    A) Going to die from the amputation

    or

    B) He will die later in the season because he is crippled. Maybe he will go out like a hero.

  • Yeah I am really nervous now. I think if the player chose to cut of Lee's arm is going to effect part this greatly. I didn't chop off Lee's arm because I thought there wasn't much point of losing a arm in a apocalypse, need to hold weapons and other stuff. For the people who did chop off Lee's arm gameplay of episode 5 in series 1 of the walking dead, its not different, the only change is that he blacks out and almost miss Clem's call about being in the hotel in the attic. everything else is the same. the only other notice is that when killing the crowed of zombies at the end he holds a cut of glass and use it as a weapon.

Clem would know cutting of a limb wouldn't work, she sees Lee's stump and comments that its scary and eventually Lee tells he cut off his arm because he was bitten. If Clem knows she might be able to stop Peter.

  • If he dies in ep2 this happens:

  • Well, if she stops Pete, then Pete will die. Plus, Pete said it worked for a cuz in Ainsworth.

  • Yeah, I'm not crazy about the idea of loosing Pete. He was the best guy in the cabin group, including Luke. But I think Nick's gonna make it no matter what and Pete's gonna die in ep2 if he didn't die in ep1. I really hope I'm wrong... or that he at least survives the amputation and lasts a while...

  • It took Lee like an hour to cut his arm off. It looked like to takes a bit to get to Vernon's hideout and Lee has only been through once so he probably had to take a bit to retrace his steps. He took a long time to get it cut off.

  • That would be awesome. Now I want him to die XD.

If he dies in ep2 this happens:

  • He's not gonna survive. I went with him, and even if he survives having his leg hacked off, he won't be able to survive four Episodes of The Walking Dead on one leg. I mean, look at all of the perfectly fine two-legged people that died in Season 1. His chances are nil.

  • Lee... we miss u T.T

  • Show Hershel survived 1 and a half seasons with a stub. So maybe Pete dies in middle of episode 3. Oh man.. Its another Doug/Carley situation

  • Nothing against Pete but I don't see him living very far though episode 2 (if you chose to go to him last episode). TT has it in their mind to kill him off and as we've seen before if a character escapes death it's not long until it catches up with them. Just look at poor ol' Ben

  • I think he will die either way from the bite or from bleeding out from cutting his foot off and this will all happen at the start of the episode and if he dies the cabin group sends out luke to find them and then they end up in the area in the screenshots that were released

  • Yeah he did, the only way I see that happens if the guy cut his limb mins after it happens. But at the end of the episode you see Peter and Clem running away from the zombies. Running away from the zombies is a good idea but that would take precious time. I don't think Peter will be able to cut his leg off in time. I think he will turn/die like Lee.

Well, if she stops Pete, then Pete will die. Plus, Pete said it worked for a cuz in Ainsworth.

  • i think the better question is if he'd have a better chance cutting it off with clem's help or carlos's...

  • I think Pete is going to survive it, like Herschel. We've already had a couple amputations fail in the video game series. Its about time for one to finally break the mold and succeed, otherwise it starts to become too predictable. You can't have them all fail.

  • Lee passed out from the bite before taking it off, suggesting the infection has already reached the brain: Pete may be able to be saved if he doesn't pass out soon after. I hope we get a choice to either cut higher on the leg, lower, or toward the middle.

  • well, they already killed him in nick's path, so they'll have to even it somehow and kill him 1 way or another. it probly won't matter if it works or not cause he'll get shot before we have a chance to find out. choosin pete'll probly just give him the chance to follow through on clem's advice if she gave it on their way to the river before he finally bites it.

  • I'd bet on letter B, if he's gonna die, I'd see him die like a hero like Doug. By then, Pete would become a legend.

  • That could be a sign true, and Lee was bitten on his arm - the top half of the body, this might mean that the time it takes the infection to spread is reduced. Peter was bitten on his leg - it might take longer, who knows :/ we will find out soon, the new episode isn't far away.

  • I hope it's B. I'd like to see him sitting in a chair as the rest of the group leaves the Cabin for the mountains, back against the wall, rifle in hand, aiming at the door for when Carver's group comes knocking because he knows he couldn't make the journey with only one leg. Pete's so awesome, he doesn't need a leg to kick ass.

  • Seems like too much work to keep him alive adding extra lines to the game. That's also less playtime/storytime/dialogue for people that let him die. Most likely he'll be dead. Choices never matter that much all lead to the same story branch.

I doubt he'll survive. The amputation has to be almost immediately and Clementine would probably tell him it didn't work on Lee if he cut his arm off.

  • And I could watch it from the balcony. Yes!

:O I hope it falls onto your house...

  • For the record, Lee died from blood loss, he did amputate the bite in time.

  • Yeah something I forgot to say. He cut his arm off terribly. He hardly had any medical supplies to disinfect it or anything. When he wakes up after getting it treated, the blood is leaking through the bandage and DRIPPING. That was a bad sign.

For the record, Lee died from blood loss, he did amputate the bite in time.

  • I don't like his chances, but he could survive the bite. For all we know, they found the shack in minutes, and who says they didn't have bandages with them.

  • Yeah but Hershel was inside the fence most of the time.

Saying that, walkers are slow, slower than a guy with one leg if he sees them.

Trying to fight one off with one leg and the resulting balance problems would be a nightmare.

I hope Pete survives, I don't want to have saved him for nothing.

On the show, when Hershel was bit, Rick cut his leg off almost immediately, Lee took too long to do it and you're not really supposed to amputate an arm by hacksawing through the bone, and axe would've been better if you have no choice, but Lee was bleeding out, he got greyer and greyer as ep 5 went on, I'm pretty sure they didn't stop the bleeding.

You'd have to at least cauterize it.

The problem is they don't have a doctor worth a damn and secondary infection would be a real problem.

If Pete dies, it should be like a boss, saving Clem

Show Hershel survived 1 and a half seasons with a stub. So maybe Pete dies in middle of episode 3. Oh man.. Its another Doug/Carley situation

  • Clem, hands down.

I wouldn't trust Carlos to treat a hangnail.

I'd rather have a Carley/Doug choice than another Shawn/Duck personally.

It'd piss me off to pick Pete and lose him anyway to find Nick back at the cabin. I don't blame him for running, he's useless with a gun, he couldn't take down 3 walkers right next to him, I certainly didn't want him firing in Clem's direction from across a river, I picked Pete cause my Clem pays her dues. Pete saved her, so he was the natural choice for me to save. I'll worry about the bite later.

The choice of Carley or Doug made no difference in the end, but it was good to be able to re-play with a different character and see the story from their perspective, at least for a while.

I prefered Carley, but I still have Doug save, it's the same as my Lilly save.

Seems like too much work to keep him alive adding extra lines to the game. That's also less playtime/storytime/dialogue for people that let him die. Most likely he'll be dead. Choices never matter that much all lead to the same story branch.

He will die later in the season because he is crippled. Maybe he will go out like a hero.

If the group leaves the cabin due to zombies or bandits, I'm willing to bet that Pete stays behind to hold them off. Either that or he'll repay the favour of Clem saving him, and will save Clem at the cost of his own life.

I think he is either: A) Going to die from the amputation or He will die later in the season because he is crippled. Maybe he will go out like a hero.

  • im just gonna point out, every character in season 1 had you had an option to save ended up dying, so i'm gonna say he's not gonna make it, even though i saved nick anways

  • Yes, because blood loss can make your eyes turn yellow and your skin pale, yeah blood loss......

For the record, Lee died from blood loss, he did amputate the bite in time.

  • I think it's going to be like a Doug/Carley situation, regardless of who you save, both die in the same episode, being episode 3 or 4
