How much time has passed since Day One?

edited March 2014 in The Walking Dead

Does anyone know roughly the amount of years and months that have passed from S1E1 of the game right up to S2E2?

    Check it here man:

EDIT: You can ignore it guys XD There are a lot of flaws like Christa's length of pregnancy and the number of "days" (yes I said DAYS) Clem was locked in the shed

  • This timeline makes no sense. A House Divided is set in day 992? In April?! Doesn't look like April to me.

Well...the wiki may not be the most accurate source, but at least they try their best to be spot on.

EDIT: Fuck it, I'm not giving the wiki some slack anymore.

  • I don't know, it seems far from spot on to me. According to the wiki the gap between the end of S1E5 and and beginning of S2E1 is 399 days. So Christa was pregnant for over a year? What is she an elephant?

If you take the wiki as a source and July 20th, 2003 as Day 0:

Lee died on November 1st, 2003

Clementine´s birthday is the 26th of October (the stranger mentioned on Day 104 that Clementine´s ninth birthday was 6 days ago)

It seems like s2e2 is set around December, roughly 29 months after the outbreak started.

  • The wiki says that it's 100 days between Clem getting locked in the shed and her getting out. Must be a huge mistake.

I laughed pretty hard. Thank you

  • WTF?! You're right! Man...was the shed some sort of time-traveling device?

  • That is how the cabin group survived that long. I knew it.

  • It all makes sense now :D

  • Its been about 2 years and 4ish months since the outbreak. Ep1 was day 1-3, Ep2 was day 90ish, Ep3 day 105ish, Ep4 day 106-107, Ep5 day 108

S2Ep1 starts at about 7-8 months later (days 320-350ish) and then 16 months later (day 800-830ish)

the wiki says that S2Ep1 starts at 504 days, but I dont know any women that stay pregnant for 14 months.

More like October, 27 months after the outbreak actually. I made a thread about the timeline but I can't find it right now. :/

    edit: found it!

    Here's my theory:

The events of season 1 seem to occur over a 3.5-month span:

    • The tapes in Crawford indicate that the apocalypse started sometime in July (possibly July 20th).
    • There's a 3-month gap between A New Day and Starved For Help
    • About 1-week gap between Starved For Help and Long Road Ahead
    • A few days to a week from the beginning of Long Road Ahead till the end of No Time Left

Which means season 1 started ~mid/late July and ended ~early November

Christa seemed to be aware of her pregnancy in Season 1 and she even showed symptoms like nausea, although she had no visible bump, so I think it's safe to assume she was around her 2nd month. Early in All That Remains she seemed to be late in her pregnancy, possibly in the 8th or 9th month. Assuming the gap between the ending of Season 1 and the beginning of All That Remains is about 6-7 months, the restroom scene and Omid's death happened in May or June of the following year.

Then we have another 16-month gap, plus a week during which the events of All That Remains and A House Divided occured, which means the latter takes place sometime in October at the latest.

  • Well she is. Ironically me and a few other members here are the same age :)

  • I actually agree on the 27 month, but the gab between S1 and S2 has to be longer. In the last episode Clem had the option to say that she's eleven. If we take as fact that she was 9 years and a fews days old at the end of S1, then at least 2 years have passed after the 16 Monat time gap. Leaving 8 month for the gap between S1 and S2.
This means Christa was aware of her pregnancy in her first month, or the was crazily overdue at the start of S2.

So we definitely are at least 27.5 month in.

But then again it could be like it is with Rick's group in the comics. They actually might not know the correct date any more and are just assuming? Clem might not even be eleven yet. Maybe we'll meet someone who has a calendar in the remaining episodes, then we'll know for sure :)

  • Well despite none obviously not using them anymore, I haven't seen any recent/current technology in TWD universe. Plus, the pretty awesome gas prices that no longer exists led me to believe it's the early-mid 2000s. But I'm not even sure anymore, anyways. And yeah, I'm 19 turning 20 in less than 2 weeks.

I don't think Kenny and Sarita(and Sarah and Clem) would be putting up a christmas tree in October, so 29 months seems right to me.

  • Oh thanks :) And happy birthday to you! You're gonna miss high school..

  • Oh, well shit, lol. Then I guess you already did miss it.

  • It's bigger on the inside.

  • At least 2 years, episode 1 was the first day of the outbreak and then episode 2 was 3 months after episode 1 and I'm not ire how much time passed between episode 2 to episode 3 and then beginning of episode 3 to episode 5 was maybe 2 days, and from episode 5 to s2e1 was a couple months since christa was far along her pregnancy and then it had the 16 month time lapse. Hard to say but most likely 2 years and a half.

  • You're right. Maybe it's November, maybe Clem has lost track of the exact date, or maybe she just said she's 11 even if she hasn't turned exactly 11 yet. Her birthday is late October/early November anyway so it is close either way.

  • There's no way it's been 29 months. Kenny's group could've lost track of time. The weather was cold and snowy, they found a Christmas tree in the storage and decided to decorate it.

I'm just working it all out in Excel and I can tell you that Wiki is wrong. If Christa is pregant around day 100 at the end of Season 1, she's not going to still be pregnant on day 504.
I'm not finished yet but there is a huge space of time covering 400 days. It's possible that 400 Days is actually set after Season 2 and Season 2 will fill in that space of what happened. Keep in mind that from the time Vince left the prison van til we see him at the campsite is 13 months, there's no way he's survive in that place for all that time.

Actually no, that doesn't work either

  • Actually is set in 752-ish. 700 days have passed since the outbreak. that make that makes it 2 years .And it doesn't need a genius to solve it Clem is 11 in a house divide and at the beginning she was 8-9.A question whose timeline is further Rick'snot the comic one or TTG's .

Ok yeah I've got it now.

    It's day 768, approximately

    Day 105 - Episode 5,
Day 225 - Omid died (Christa is roughly 4 months more pregnant, 120 days),
    Day 765 - Season 2 (18 months later, about 540 days),
Day 766 - The dog, the new gang and a night in the shed,
    Day 767 - Pete dies,
    Day 768 - Carver arrives
