So can we really trust Him?

I mean don't forget Kenny was not dependable in the first season of the TWD, I actually hated him because he always ditched me in times I needed him y'know? And now he plays this kind of off role and such I mean how do we know he won't ditch Clementine in a situation to save himself y'know!? Just think about that when you make your decisions in episode 3 because to me he was never a character to be trusted.

PS. To me I think it's better off having Clementine stray off from connecting with anybody because there will never be another guardian like Lee (RIP Homie) and plus!? #IAMCLEMENTINE She doesn't need anybody else I got her back! >:D

  • he wouldn't ditch clementine, even though you could make him hate lee in the first season in the end he sacrifices himself for christa/ben so they could all make it out in one piece :P
  • When does he ditch you exactly? I think he only decides to not help you if you weren't on good standings with him. If you assisted him in the meat locker and Hershel's farm while generally being good with him, he'll look out for you in season 1.
  • I doubt it. Kenny's sanity is definitely questionable at this point, so I think soon he's gonna snap and maybe go on a rampage or something like that. I remember this fanfic I read where the game and tv series crossed over, and Sarah and Carlos get bitten and Kenny shoots them without remorse. He straight up murders Rebecca too, and leaves Daryl (yes, Daryl) for dead.
  • Look, its not our fault you chose not to save a kid or were too timid to help finish off Larry.

Kenny "fans" like Kenny because he is solid. He is a loose cannon, but solid when you need him the most.

So yes, I will be backing his every move in the next episode and hopefully we can make it out unscathed.
  • No Luke has not abandoned his group, he is staying undetected which is a smart choice
  • i'm right there with you. i don't know if i'd call not helping make sure larry didn't turn "timid," because i'm a fairly timid person myself - i just know a bad situation when i see it, and i was willing to 'be the bad guy' and make the bad choice if it meant protecting clem. (even if he could have been revived - which, if you actually know how the body works, was impossible at that point - i wasn't going to risk clem's life, and besides, i needed to stand with kenny on this instead of alienating him completely.)

kenny might be a loose cannon, true, but he IS solid, like you said - and also dependable if you've given him reason to trust you. my lee was loyal to kenny to the end, and he returned that favor. he was a good friend

He's obviously fairly unstable - but his substituting his family with Clem and Sarita make me think he's actually MORE likely to do anything for them now.

For example, the second Carver points a gun to Clementine or Sarita's head, Kenny immediately surrenders. Which, usually wouldn't be like him, tbh.

It doesn't have to be a perfect guardian like Lee, hell, she doesn't even need a guardian anymore, also he ditched you because you didn't agree with him, your choices to make him help you or not. He can be trusted, but if he does a few stupidest things doesn't mean you can't trust them forever...
  • That is precisely what I meant by "timid" though.... Not willing to be the bad guy in order to protect Clem.

Kenny was a great friend to my Lee. Cheers.

  • It's not really a good reason but Kenny could also protect Clementine to respect what Lee wanted for her so he wouldn't take any risks that involve Clem. Especially if Lee and Kenny were in good standing in Season 1.

  • Kenny is still capable of taking care of Clementine and protecting her, but he's slowly turning into something else.
  • Kenny always has a good motivation behind the things he does. He's a good man and I will always have his back when he needs it most.
  • Can we trust luke? or alvin if saved?
  • Kenny is a loose cannon commercial fisherman who plays by his own rules. I do have doubts about Kenny's sanity, but I don't doubt he will do anything for Clem, which should be fun.
  • I like how you mentioned his profession, like being a commercial fisherman affects your sanity or something.

Kenny is unstable at the moment and thats putting it lightly
But he would never turned on clem, solely because clem is pretty much there
from the beginning and tying him to his past (family)
In a ZA having someone who has shared many ups and downs,
and u can trust is everything.
Kenny knew that, he isnt stupid enough to turn on clem
  • nope Kenny paused to many times in drastic/extreme situations for me to put my life in his hands and to trust his decisions in season1, i'll always second guess him and expect him to use those around himself as cannon fodder so he can escape.

do i believe he'd do something like this to Clem? no, but i wouldnt put it past him to intentionally sabotage the situation/group thus dividing and using those around him as obstacles between him and the zombies.

i fully expect Kenny to force Clem to choose between him and the group she's rolling with, its already been hinted at within the first episode of season2.
  • He is a good man but i dont know if i would trust him in a descision between and Sarita

Yeah Kenny wouldn't do that, Clem is Duck to him, He wouldn't let her die for anything.
  • Disclaimer : Not a fan of Kenny. At all.

Kenny to me can be extremely petty. For example: In one of my playthroughs, at the St. John's I tried to resuscitate Larry. Then when the St. John brother attacks Lee by the fence, Kenny just stands by and watches while Lee gets pummeled. Granted, Lily helps Lee but the fact that someone would be so petty about not getting their way in a dire situation like this makes a character extremely unlikeable to me. He was willing to let Lee get injured because he didn't get the validation in his choices that he wanted. And in S2E2 during dinner when you pick sides, my Clem obviously picked Luke's table which didn't set well with Kenny. A grown ass man is going to 'remember' that an eleven year old picked a different person to eat with than him. Also, the way he interacted with Luke and Nick was extremely hostile, and the way he talked to Sarita is so far from okay despite the fact that she just views it as "gentlemanly".
  • Does it matter? Telltale is going to kill Kenny, it would be the only death that would come close in having the impact that Lee's did

Hey, I admit Kenny's not a bad person, but...

Has everyone forgotten that he was more than willing to leave Clem to die at the end of episode 4 just because of a petty grudge he had against her guardian? In Lee's own words: "You're gonna let a little girl die just because I didn't have your back every damn minute?"

He's extremely protective of Clem this season, but it really seems to me like that's only so Kenny can use her as a stand in for Duck considering how little he can care for her in season 1. Of course, that's a good thing since it means Clem can count on him to protect her. I'm just worried what would happen if it came down to a choice between her and Sarita...
  • It bugs me, because I trust Kenny, but always to an extent, I think he genuinely cares and wants to protect Clementine, however the sheer love he has for her is because of the son he failed, not because of Clem as a person. It's why I tried to distance myself from him in EP2, I sat down with him, sure, because he doesn't deserve to be ignored, however when it comes between the Cabin group, and more importantly, The Sistahood, or the Boatman, I know which one I'm gonna have to pick.
  • It depends. Do I trust Kenny? Definitely. I've had the benefit of multiple playthroughs to see that he willingly sacrifices himself to save Lee and by extension, Clementine.

Does Canon Clementine trust him? Hell no. Lee never got along with Kenny, and as a result constantly received verbal abuse from him. One of the last things she saw before going AWOL was Kenny flipping out on Ben and trying to leave him behind. Clem never got to see how Kenny reconciled his differences with Lee or that he seemingly 'died' to spare Ben the agony of being torn apart. It will be interesting to see how their relationship goes, moving forward.
  • You can't really use the St John's argument, because in my scenario it was Lilly who left my Lee to get the crap kicked out of him. Your argument's also flawed as Luke reacts in a similar way to Kenny, fair enough you're not a fan of him. But please don't base evidence on why he's bad due to your own personal choices, you need more depth than that.

  • "I have a lot of pain inside me lee. I wanna let even a little bit out" I'm guessing episode 3 is where he lets his pain out? Maybe that's why he snaps
  • I trust him to try and keep Clem safe. He considers her family now, and we've all seen that he's more than willing to die to keep those he considers his friends or family safe.

Do I trust him to keep his shit together and not lose it? Hell no. He's not exactly the definition of mental health at the moment, and sooner or later he's gonna snap. Maybe even in Episode 3. I know he'd never do anything to intentionally hurt Clem or otherwise put her in danger, but when he loses it, it won't be pretty and I'd prefer to be as far away as possible when it happens.

  • It's a determinant. That's not what happened when I played episode 4. Kenny was glad to go in my game (the "bro speech"). The Girl from Aus on Youtube has a play through with the bro speech, if you haven't seen it.

  • The thing that bothers me about Kenny is I had his back the entire game, meat locker, the pharmacy in Macon, when Duck needed to be shot, but THE ONE TIME I didnt have his back was at Hershel's farm (Kenny was around to help Duck, and no one was around to help Shawn!), and I didn't let Ben die (Clem does NOT need to hear of another death).

And I never got the bro speech, he never helped me to get Clem back! If Clem knew, I doubt she'd want him to be with her either!
  • at this point Clem is glad to be with someone she trusts , she knows Kenny, knew his family! she is the only one that can bring Kenny back to normal! I don't trust the group shes with after what they did to her and if they all died it wouldn't bother me! in my story Kenny owes Lee and in everyone's story he loves Clem, so just hoping Clem and him get out of the new story together
  • I play this game Machiavellian style...act friendly, trust no one.
  • What else am I supposed to base my lack of trust on then? This is a game where characters adapt to your choices, Kenny adapted to mine in a way that made me distrust him. In your experience, he was apparently trustworthy. I didn't have that same experience. Lily's reaction in your game makes sense because your Lee just helped "kill" her father. Kenny doesn't help my Lee because he didn't get the validation in his decision that he wanted. And in my playthrough Kenny was the one who initially provoked Nick and Luke at the table, not the other way around.
