I lost my saved files

I downloaded episode 3 today, but all my saved files are gone... No clue what happened. Does anyone has the same problem? This already happened to me with season 1 and it's pretty annoying
  • I, too, lost my save file for the second time, and I don't want to play the first chapter again for the third time. Is there a save file tool that I can use so I can just create another file or something? Really not happy with this. Thanks.
  • My "main" save was still ok, but I had an alternate save (under game 2) where I was trying to make different choices -- and that one appears to have gone missing. Not cool.

    Can you please clarify if you are playing Season One, or Season Two? Are you playing on Steam, or the Telltale Games version?     • I am playing Season 2 on the Steam version. Also something I noticed after episode 3 update is that when I launched the game Steam warned me my saved files couldn't sync with Cloud.

        I apologize. Can you please clarify if you can use your save files if you disable Steam Cloud Syncing? (You can check this by right clicking on the game in your Steam library, clicking properties, and click the updates tab. Near the bottom of the page, you can see if the Steam cloud is enabled for The Walking Dead: Season 2)
        • Yep, saved files work fine if I disable syncing.

            My apologies, we believe this issue has been caused by having Steam cloud saves enabled for The Walking Dead: Season 2. Steam cloud save support for Season 2 was added last Monday, and has seemed to effect a small amount of players, but turning Steam Cloud Syncing off seems to resolve the issue. I hope you enjoy the game!

          Unfortunately links are currently not working on our website, but I can see it using moderator tools. After looking over your support tool, it seems that you have a few prefs.prop files. Please do a search on your computer for 'prefs.prop', and make sure every prefs.prop file other than the one in

          /Users/derekpons/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/thewalkingdead/prefs.prop

          are renamed to prefs.prop.bak to disable them, and then restart the game, and your save files should be restored.
