What's the best weapon for a ZA?

What weapon would you choose for a zombie apocalipse ? I would choose an axe, or a shotgun

  • A sniper rifle, probably. I would spot people and walkers from a safe distance, and I would also know where to find the drugstores and supermarkets. The worst thing about the rifle is the loud sound it does, but I think I could live with it.

    Ignore this double post

  • twelve round shotgun.

  • A rifle would be useful, as well as having a pistol for backup. Things like machetes, katanas and crossbows would also be pretty cool.

  • twelve round shotgun.

  • A "glock" pistol with a silencer.

  • Submarine launched ballistic missile.

  • i didn't know we had a terrorist among us

    Submarine launched ballistic missile.

  • Lee's pimp hand ofcourse.

  • M4A1 with silencer in pair with machete

  • MY BIG C*OCK, no seriously, I'm fast and athlectic, I would probably use.. Um.. A machete or something sharp.

    Well, let's think.

I'm a 12 year old girl, so I'm not really physically strong. I need something not heavy and easy to use. I could probably handle a pistol (my dad and my sister know how to use one, so they can teach me), a crossbow, a bat and a knife. Then, through the ZA, I'll improve my skills and I probably could use something heavier, but more powerful. A shotgun or a rifle, maybe?

  • " A machete or something sharp. "

    A sharp shaved Mustache?

  • Sure that sounds like a good idea, but let me clarify one thing, there is no such thing as a "silencer" that name would imply that it makes a firearm absolutely silent which is completely ridiculous, the term you are looking for is a Sound Suppressor or just Suppressor, it lowers "suppresses" the sound produced by firearm discharge.

Now don't take this the wrong way using a suppressor is still advantageous, it will make it much harder to pinpoint the location of the shooter by not only significantly reducing the muzzle flash but also by severely impairing anyone's ability to tell the direction of incoming fire, moreover it will also reduce the recoil of your firearm.

  • but when there is someone with shotgun for example? or maybe with sniper rifle? you would run to him with samurai sword? oh and yeah, he noticed you, at least you need minimum 1 pistol too for, far fight

  • i grew up learning how to use swords like german long sword and rapier from my dad, im also ok at using a sling and used by someone experienced a sling can be deadly accurate and easily cave a head in; using a sling isnt that different from using a monkey fist with a big rock in it so id carry one of those on my belt for those close quarters encounters. id keep a hand pistol but that would be for the living not the dead.

  • Shotgun!

    Nothing better!

    And a beer!

  • a lightsaber to dodge bullets

  • Not entirely, the point i was trying to make was that the metal tube attached to the barrel is a Suppressor and not a Silencer. http://i.imgur.com/uf80dUb.png

A suppressed .22 rifle with subsonic ammo (so the gun doesn't make a supersonic 'crack' when fired). I've tried it, the sound of the action cycling is louder than the sound of the actual gunfire. Firing regular guns would be like ringing a dinner bell, IMO.

As for melee weapons, an entrenching tool or hatchet would be a good choice.

  • oh sorry, my mistake:p thanks for correcting

  • the two best melee weapons would be a nice sharpened axe or as bad as it sounds a plank of wood with a nail through the end, you want good range, a deep hit (if zombies did happen, it would take control of the part of your brain near the stem because thats the part that doesnt deal with memories or morals, its the part that the virus would need to control to make you a zombie) to destroy the part of the brain necissary to kill the zombie. now a sledge hammer would be good to but its really heavy and will slow you down a lot, for guns id say a shotgun, almost guarenteed a kill at close range

  • Are those guns commonly available? How pricey are they?

The gun itself is pretty damn cheap. I use a special edition Ruger 10/22 which cost me about $375. Unfortunately, in order to use a suppressor, the National Firearms Act requires you to get a $200 tax stamp from the ATF, which was the deal-breaker for me. My friend paid up and bought one for his .22, it was cool but not $200 worth of cool.

I'd definitely recommend the 10/22 though. It's an awesome little gun.

  • Something that wouldn't make too much noise.

  • 575 dollars for all that? Excuse me while I vote Republican :P

Anyway, so you're telling me the Ruger 10/22 is the AKM of .22 rifles?

  • According to the Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks the World war 1 era Trench spike is the Ultimate Zombie killing weapon. It was used by soldiers to fight in hand to hand combat in the trenches and the spike was designed to pierce through metal helmets. If it can pierced through a metal helmet then it could easily pierce through a zombie's head.

I'd prefer a good long range weapon that is virtually silent when firing a shot and has re-usable ammo (bowguns, bows and arrows) .

And a nice sharp blade as an emergency backup.

  • A MOTHERFUCKING CHAINSAW!!!
