Luke deserved to let loose with Jane

I really cannot understand the hate for Luke. Didn't he say something like he wasn't good with women? Now his best friend has died, you were there most likely witnessing the death of a young teenage girl (Sarah), and you finally have some free time to do nothing. Now you look over and Jane is probably willing to do anything with you, and you don't know what they did. These people would do anything to live in a normal life again, and after the amazing stress they are all put under, I'm sure it was nice for both of them to get their minds off the terrible world and enjoy eachother for once. All humans have sexual desires and they have to be fulfilled. I'm willing to bet 87.6% of all men who were in Luke's position that day would have made a move for Jane. If Jane made the move first, then 99% of all men would go ahead with it. Have you ever been turned on before? My friend told me when you are horny you don't care about anything and if a girl is around then all cares go out the window. It is true. That's why Luke decided to finally take a break from the world they live in and forget about constant death and agony and just live life for a moment.

Being horny is no excuse to put people in danger. I think both Jane and Luke can be blamed for the situation, but Luke still took part in it.

Magical thing called masturbation exists. Excuse me for saying that, but its true.

  • Is that still an excuse to let selfish desires for pleasure to get in the way of his duty?

    Luke failed his duty.

  • You don't take a break when you're supposed to be watching out for your group, a job you volunteered for, no less. I understand Luke starting to break under the strain and needing something to cope, but time and place, dude. He could've waited a few more hours for them to get the baby born and then boned Jane to his heart's content or just taken matters into his own hands if the urge was that bad. It was stupid of Jane, but Jane wasn't really a member of the group, invested in the people, like Luke was. It looks extra shitty on him.

  • He failed the group. He could of got with Jane earlier or later. Not when the group needed him. He could of prevented Sarah's death as he would of sen the walkers coming and managed to get the group to safety. The walkers might of then not been able to follow them.

Sure he can get laid but he should have watched for zombies and help Rebecca with her baby, after that he can have sexy time but he picked the worst time to do it.

  • not in that situation, he didn't.

He was the guy with the AK with the job to survey while everyone else was busy helping Rebecca. They only got ambushed by the herd because he screwed up.

  • Yep, let's just wait until later and risk still being alive.

  • It's not the fact that he 'let loose' that makes me so annoyed, good for him and all, but it was the damn timing. Plus, he's the one that volunteered to keep watch—the whole group was counting on him.

"I'll patrol the perimeter and make sure no walkers get near Rebecca!" ----> ~Gets distracted having sexy times~ = Everyone almost dies (and depending if you helped Sarah that far, she does die).

He definitely made a mistake by accepting Jane's offer. I do hope he has the chance to make it up to the group though, since he's a decent guy.

  • I don't care that Luke and Jane did it... but at the time that they did? Couldn't wait a few hours? Moron. What happens when we stumble across another hot girl? Is he going to get head while Clementine nearly dies?

Yeah, I don't trust him or anyone in this group. I tried to leave with Jane and just want Clem to get away at this point. I think she would be better on her own then relying on anyone she's currently with.

Sure, he deserved it. But, he chose a shitty time. I'm pretty sure he's capable of waiting a couple of hours until everyone's lives aren't in danger and a woman isn't getting ready to give birth and introduce a child into a zombie filled world. It was irresponsible, selfish, weak, and he really made himself look like a coward. He had a job to do, a job that could save lives if he just did it instead of doing Jane. Best way to describe it is to say it was a "Ben move." I mean I'm not a man and I don't know what it's like, but I'm pretty sure it's not like being possessed by a demon and not being able to control yourself. I sure hope men have enough self control to know that. Excuse my rant. I know we're all entitled to our own opinions, but I thought it just needed to be said.

Yeah, I'd saved Sarah so far, if he starts again about how X member isn't trustworthy or hasn't done anything, like when he was talking about Mike, I hope I can point it out to him that his screw up got her killed

There, case closed. Don't give me that idealistic BS about duty or "OMG! He put everyone in danger!". How exactly did he do that? Was the place swarmed with walkers when he did it? No, it wasn't. And the whole thing probably took about 5, 10 minutes at best considering that was the first time in a while he engaged in a sexual intercourse. The only thing that bothers me about this is how the writers decided to downplay Luke's character. It's understandable, but very cheap.

  • Since I've not had any sexual sexual frustrations and I approve of "non sexual romance" I don't really know what to say about him not being able to control his urges. Either way, it wasn't the right time, believe it or not.

  • Are you saying sex is more important than people's lives?

Yep, let's just wait until later and risk still being alive.

That's not the point, the point is he had a job and he didn't do it because he was horny. And he didn't know that the place was barely swarmed. He could have helped. The point is, it was a childish decision to have sex instead of doing his job. Everyone has the right to be mad. We're all entitled to our own opinions, but this is what I think and I appreciate what you said. I understand.

  • When your mind is horny like I said everything else flies out the window.

So one question. Luke decides to guard the place. A giant swarm appears. What is he gonna do? Waste his ammo and draw more walkers?

  • As Kenny showed, it was only necessary to kill one walker to assist the group. And Kenny got that one.

It's not the fact that he did it that pissed people off, it's that he did it when there was a heard coming and he was lookout-Great timing.....

  • He has a sword. And it's still not right because he knew that the walkers were going to give the group trouble, but nah, he chose to have a little fling with Jane whilst everyone was trying to move Rebecca to a safe place to have a freaking baby. Maybe it wasn't bad at the camp, but it was probably a bit more difficult on the way there. Here's my question to you, what's more important:

Luke having sexy times or Rebecca safely introducing a baby human into a zombie infested world?

Also, I'm pretty sure men have control of themselves when they get horny. They just choose not to. Sorry if I sound a little harsh, we're talking about a video game. But, still. This is what I think and I am totally open to changing my mind if I am properly convinced.

When your mind is horny like I said everything else flies out the window. So one question. Luke decides to guard the place. A giant swarm appears. What is he gonna do? Waste his ammo and draw more walkers?

  • Protecting your group in a tense situation comes first. Not "pleasing your needs"

Yeah, he can have some fun. But he shouldn't have done it when Rebecca was about to have her baby.

  • How far was the war site to the place where she gave birth? Let's say 1.5 miles. Clementine left after meeting Luke, and then she traveled another mile to the place where Bonnie and Mike was. That's maybe two miles in between the time she stopped at the civil war site if you choose to talk to them and interact with the hub. So maybe five-eight minutes at the site, and for both miles, maybe twenty minutes walking time. So then Clementine walked back to the civil war spot, and walked another mile back to where Luke and Jane were. That's like an hour of time. So my point is Luke didn't do Jane for 1 hour, and probably guarded the post for some of the time before letting go the last couple of minutes before they arrived. Also, he didn't do anything to deliver the baby. Even if Luke was guarding ,a swarm is a swarm, what would he do? Like I said, most men would go for it if Jane offered first. Who wouldn't? If you were Luke, haven't had sex for 2 years, and someone offers it, I'd go for it.

Are you saying sex is more important than people's lives?

  • Luke, you were supposed to be keeping watch, but instead, you wanted to put everyone at risk because you were alone with someone, and you were desperate. Thanks to Luke, Sarah had to die (if you rescued her earlier).

  • Unless they're gay.

And yes I guess we need sex to survive right?

I understand. I still don't agree with it, though. It's not about statistics, because statistically, it was okay. It's about it being morally okay, which it wasn't. It was a bad time to do it.

  • I don't think Sarah's death was too influenced by if he spotted a horde or not. Her death was bad luck and bad reflexes; she probably should have stayed in the room with Rebecca if she wasn't going to fight; not out on the deck as a liability. I liked Sarah, but yeah.

  • The thing is he DIDN'T have free time. They were both supposed to be doing jobs and if you saved Sarah, she dies anyways because the group was unprepared for a zombie hoard attack. And why? Because he wanted to have some fun with a girl he barely knew instead of doing his job.

  • I don't blame him for that at all; Sarah was standing in the wrong spot at the wrong time. It was just bad luck for her, had nothing to do with Luke not spotting a horde or whatever.

  • Even if he desperately needed to have sex right then and there (which is ridiculous), he could have told Kenny that he needed to take a break and was going to go check up on the others or whatever. He said he was watching so he should have done that or said otherwise, because those people thought someone was watching out for them keeping them safe so they wouldn't watch out for themselves, leaving them open and extremely vulnerable when it was absolutely not necessary and easily preventable.

  • Doesn't mean he couldn't have gotten it on with Jane some OTHER time!

  • I love how people are saying 'they didn't need him anyway'. If Luke had been doing his job and watching the perimeter... He could have seen them coming from farther out. He could have warned the group and they could have gotten to safety a lot sooner and not led the walkers right to the birthing site. Part of being a look-out, is you know, looking out.

I hope he asks me to lookout while he uses the restroom or something. I'll go and play somewhere else. She's just a kid, she needs to play, right? It's in her nature, she's just a kid after all. Just like a guy can't ever control himself when he's randy. Oh well!

  • I can understand the guy's urge for a fuck, but, it was a really inappropriate time to do it.
