Will Kenny die in Season 2?

  • Thanks for making it clear!

  • I think kenny will die but he will die as a legend from saving someone.

  • All of my this. So much this.

  • No way this world lets Kenny live when I helped put Shawn in the ground.

  • I would be okay with it if it was near the end and either Luke or Kenny went out in a huge way. Depends how they handle the story branching. I don't think they'll both make it, and I'd like some influence over who survives in the end.

  • I think hes definitely going to die (or otherwise be removed from the story) sometime during the last 3 episodes. He's a good character, but like another poster mentioned, there is only so much of him you can take.

  • Eh... I still wouldn't be a fan of either of them being determinant characters, but if it were done perfectly, then it may be alright I suppose.

Though, I still don't believe that Kenny will die in S2.

  • Thank you for mentioning this. Both Kenny and Merle are 2 of my favourite characters in the walking dead franchise and having such an heroic death as Merle had is all you can really ask for in the walking dead world.

    Yes. This. Yes.

    Please.

  • Kenny won't die, it's a scratch! He is not like the others. Jesus, all of you are just making it worse! What's the Goddamn deal? He's a little different now? But we can't just quit!

  • It would be an awful lot of extra effort to provide a decent story for both the possible living characters.. ya got me there.

    I hope you're right.

  • Guess I played season 1 all wrong. Kenny died.

  • No problemo my good man! :D

I have a feeling that, just like Rick on the tv show, he'll survive no matter what.
In fact, in many ways, Kenny's story, and Rick's story, are very similar.
    Examples.....

1, Kenny has been shot at close range with a rifle and survived.

On the pilot episode of the tv show, Rick is shot at close range and also survived.

2, Kenny has a wife, and a son who looks to be around 10 yrs old.

Even though Kenny's exact age has not been stated as of yet, he looks,( to me anyway), to be around 45 yrs old.

Rick also has a wife and a son who, at the beginning of the show, looks to be around 10 yrs old as well.
Rick's exact age, has also not been definitely stated, at least not yet, but he looks to be in his late 30's at the start of the show, and now appears to be in his early 40's.

3, Kenny and Lilly argue about the way things should be run.

Kenny, who is a man of principle, believes they're is still hope, and believes in helping others, which he proves when he helps bring Ben and his injured classmate back to the motel.
Lilly on the other hand, is more focused on immediate survival, and views helping others as a threat, basically survival of the fittest.

Rick, is also a man of principle, who not only will do what is needed to protect his family and the group, but also who will not turn away someone in need.
Shane, is all about survival, willing to murder another in cold blood, like he did to Otis, in order to preserve himself alive.
They also disagreed with how things should be done, right from the getgo, just like Kenny and Lilly.

4, Kenny loses his wife and child, and goes into a natural state of grief and depression, which still seems to be lingering to an extent.

Rick loses his wife, and goes into a state of grief, and for a while insanity.
And in the 4th season, his state of grief still seems to linger somewhat.

5, At the beginning of the 1st game, Kenny is seen having a thick biker mustache, a look he maintains throughout the 1st game.

When he is seen again in the second game, he now has a full beard.

Rick, in the 1st-2nd season of the tv show, is seen wearing stubble.
By the 4th season, he is also seen wearing a beard.

6, Despite suffering traumatic loss, Kenny has obviously been damaged, but not broken, as he still is seen pushing on, and is still seen trying to help others.

Rick, also has managed to keep pushing on, despite his loss, not letting it destroy him.
Rick also has continued to try and help others, to the best of his ability.

Based on the similarities covered, Kenny seems to be a game version of Rick's character on the tv show.
    At least to me.
I'm not saying I know that to be the case!
These are just simple similarities I've noticed.
    That's all!

  • I think he will die, unfortunately. More than 2 seasons alive for a character in The Walking Dead is a lot, but it could happen, who knows.

I agree with you Robert Morgan.
I to want Kenny to survive to the end,( not just to the end of this season), but also to survive to the end of the series.
    I love Kenny's character!
When everything else in the game was going to shit, Kenny was one of the few good guys left.
When I played the first game,( for the very first time), I played according to how my conscious dictated.
And surprisingly, I ended up agreeing with him most of the time,( including the Larry situation).

I will say one thing for TT, they know how to make a videogame!
Especially when it came to getting the player to think realistically, in a fantasy world.

  • Yep. He'll die. This is the walking dead! The fact he's lasted this long is a miracle in itself. He's lasted longer than everyone else so his time is running out.

  • We have a saying in Kurdish, "martyrs never die"(meaning they keep on living in ones' memories). Lee never dies neither will Kenny.

  • Best comment on this forum. Hell yeah! Kenny for Season 3, I wanna see Kenny survive!

  • Just shut the fuck up, you dumb fucking idiot. I just needed to start the thread, Go play in the traffic or something. You piece of shit.

  • If he does die, I want him to die next to a pile of salt licks...

  • Thanks for proving my point of your incompetence.

    Thank you.
Tell me, what do see happening to Kenny in the 3rd season?
For example, what role he'll play in the group, his relationships with Clementine and Luke. And how his personality will change in the 3rd season?
Leave me your comment, tell me what you think.
Afterward, I'll give you my theories.

  • I think Kenny will die in this season when we least expect it, probably after doing something awesome just to kick the players feelings.

  • I love Kenny, he was my favorite character from season 1. However, I do think he will die this season. I can see a couple different scenarios playing out.

    1. There is a determinant choice between saving Kenny or Luke in episode 3 or early episode 4. Probably Carver holding a gun to someone's head, or something similar to Carley/Doug. I would HATE this because I love both characters, but I admit it would be a memorable decision to make.

    2. Kenny goes completely off the deep end and we or someone in our group has to "take care of him." I don't think this would happen in a malicious way, kinda more of a twisted "put him out of his misery" kinda way.

    3. Kenny sacrifices himself for the greater good of the group, similar to what he did in season 1, but with closure this time.

If Kenny does die this season, I hope his death has meaning and closure. The poor guy deserves it.

  • I think clem will have the option to save luke or him

  • I would like to see some sort of acceptance on Kenny's part. Like, for instance:

Luke, Kenny, and Clementine arrive at Wellington only to find out that the city has been overrun by walkers. While fleeing from the walkers, they get trapped (somehow). Kenny looks around before seeing a dumpster. He gets Luke and Clementine to get inside, giving Clementine a smile before looking to Luke and saying something like, "Take good care of her, kid." Clementine can ask Kenny what he's doing, and he says that someone has to draw the walkers away from the dumpster so that Luke and Clem aren't trapped inside. Before Clem gets to say anything, Kenny runs off, making a lot of noise, drawing the walkers towards him. For closure, you would later find Kenny as a half-eaten walker or something.

  • I agree, I think the acceptance on Kenny's part is super important too.

I also like your idea of Kenny, Luke, and Clementine being the last survivors, and part of Kenny's acceptance being his approval of Luke looking after Clementine.

  • Come to think of it, an ending where Clem, Kenny, and Luke are drifting in the middle of the ocean would be a hell of a cliffhanger. ;p

  • My ideal scenario

Clem - "Kenny, are you asleep or are you dead? Oh well, can't take the risk."

    • Saltlicks Kenny's head *

He'll live, Kenny is the Garrus of TWD.

Although Garrus is determinant on ME2, more then 90% of players kept him alive.

So, I think that if he has a possiblity to die, we will be able to save him

  • that's not even..... oh. sarcasm.

    Clementine: what now Kenny?

    Kenny: sighs boat.

and this would be episode 5, with the surviving character going with clem?

what if there were two different season threes.

    one with kenny.
    one with luke.

  • ME3 dealt in a "nice" way with all the determinant characters, and they were ocupied with other areas alongside the plot, TTG major worry is plot, so I think that they would deal with derterminant even better than Bioware did, not to mention that ME2 and 1 combined had a cast of 18 determinant characters, Telltale has only 9 characters that could be determninant.

The main question is: will telltale have the balls to do such an ambicious task? Could be a problem for Season 3, but it would give a damn lot of recognition for the company.

  • Kenny could be a determinant with Lily. I would play twice then just to see what happens.
