  • If those extra 30+ minutes add the things missing from season 1 the yes it is quality

adding half an hour to the game isn't quality either.

  • But would it really happen? Or would it be just like Crawford, walking a round for that halfie?

  • first of all, it isn't childish it's a community trying to step up and speak out and tell telltale that they are doing something wrong for a game we love, second, taking criticism's from the consumer is not a bad thing, they shouldn't know what to do just by thinking it up by themselves, taking what the community wants is being an active developer for your game. if they just thought everything up themselves without any advice from the community the games would not be as good.

You have a point, but "90 minutes" isn't a source of the problem here, lack of focus is the real issue and run time isn't going to

Quality over quantity for me. And I'm loving the quality.

  • Would those xtra minute be S1 quality because of a petition of 1,7K names, If we play it has that many names and they actually noting it?

Or would they just add some padded walking around that would be maybe cool in the first playthrough but after that, not so much?

    What?

but it's childish, if they isn't listened us here, 1,7k petition isn't change that.

And "90 minute" still isn't an issue, it isn't a petition how TT doing wrong to the this "interactive story".

Its petition cause of the length, and if they would add 30 minutes to game it would change the lack of focus.

And petition states that TT have abandoned all "HC" fans to make room to the new fans? What, how lazy writing and lack of character development attracts them. And again how half an hour or hour fixes this? You think after this "1.7" petition they just going to throw games script to a oblivion and write/add ton more development and story? Im sorry, you going to need to make petitions description more mature and over 1.5 million names.

  • 5% is better than 0% is it not?

Even that amount would only represent a very tiny percentage of the player base.

  • I'm not really characterizing TellTale as bad, but there are still flaws with Season 2 that Season 1 doesn't have and the fans keep complaining about.

How can you guys say that your all making telltale look like this big bad company that well take your wallets without a second tho

  • I've said the same thing and not just on this forum, that it's impossible to give everyone what they want. All you can do is stick to your own vision and create something you can feel proud of or else, why bother?

I do, and he is right. I also know what goes into writing a story, and that a story shouldn't be longer than it needs to be.

  • I'm not talking about graphics. I'm talking about the characters and situations I thought the escaping situation was brilliant and I loved episode 3's characters and interactions. That Is what I consider quality.

    Improved graphics isnt quality.

  • Because I don't care if it's 30 minutes as long as it's a really really really good 30 min.

  • It depends on the nature of the petition. As this is a petition regarding the reduction of the overall length of episodes in comparison to season one and how people are displeased with that. So yes, in this instance it is a complaint regarding episode length.

We did not pay for 2 - 3 hour episodes in the first place. YOU paid for 2 - 3 hour episodes which I don't believe there is a 3 hour episode. I AS IN ME (because I'm not speaking for everyone) bought this game for good quality.

  • More length would allow telltale to add those.

Its not just about the length, but also (as we have mentioned already) the lack of character development and lack of hubs. The petition should also include those.

  • but that's easy to make, and then they can easily to say well we tried to make you happy... sorry.

  • With 250K followers on Twitter and millions of views of just one gamer (specifically pewdiepie) playing an episode, this petition is much too late and greatly exaggerates its claims.

First, on the site, TTG mentions that for Season 1, "skilled players will get through an episode on about 2 hours" and for Season 2, "most people finish an episode in around 2 hours." With that in mind, you paid for an episode of either season that takes about 2 hours to play through once, but even that excludes all the dialogue and action sequences that can be revealed with another playthrough, so I would argue that the actual length of Season 1's episodes are not about 50% longer than Season 2's as you seem to be saying. Basically, if you think the length of an episode really determines how good it is to you, then why not tally all the dialogue and action sequences to determine the complete amount of content and then judge everything available? You might find the Season 2 episodes are closer to the length and quality of Season 1's episodes than you believe.

Second, "Telltale should not be working on 4 games at once. Because of this the writers have changed alot of things in the story, so the quality has gone down significantly" doesn't make any sense. How would working on one game cause a change in the writing for a second, different game? Are you saying the writers changed a line in TWD because of something they wrote for TWAU? Also, if the writers have changed a lot of things in the story because they're working on 4 different games, how do you know what was written in the first place and therefore how do you know it's now worse?

Last, to say Telltale has "stopped listening to their biggest fans" and "now are just trying to attract new fans, and abandoning all the hardcore fans" is clearly nonsense. How can you possibly account for the opinions of all their fans (some of whom have only ever watched a playthrough) when you only know of a very small percentage that seem to agree with you? You seem to be confusing how many people share your opinion with how strongly you feel about your opinions. Just because you're personally very annoyed about something doesn't mean you can assume a lot of other people are, or should be, too.

I will concede, however, that the episodes do leave you wanting more. I think we can all agree on that.
  • You played the game didnt you? How did they steal anything?

Telltale don't care. They've already stolen our money

  • Yeah what episode sir?
Unless you stood there for 15 minutes I doubt it was 3 hours.
Even episode 4 wasn't 3 hours at the most it was near 2 and a half.
Also, think of it from telltales view..
They are working on 4 games and are waaaaaay too busy because there team is waaaaayyy to small to handle 4 games.
So they shortened the episodes because of that reason, it's there fault to do a dumb game like tales from the borderlands and it's screwing the other games over. But making it longer isn't really a big option for them I don't think. But I'll sign your petition because I think its good to support each other.

We don't know what 'most fans' think because about 99.999% of them don't post here and will never see that petition. That's why it has a snowball's chance in hell of working, but also why its pointless to draw any conclusions about what people who don't post here think about the subject.

A good portion of the comments on metacritic and the like, both user reviews and professional, amount to the exact same thing I see posted here.

"It was really good, but short and linear and is feeling more and more like a visual novel rather than a game with every episode. Clementine has been turned from a child into a superhero and the entire group of adults seem entirely dependent on her."

A lot of us, me included, gave the episode very high marks...and then pointed out how much better it COULD have been if Telltale would just stop trying to streamline the damn thing until the episode practically plays itself on autopilot. That's what people who are troubling themselves with commenting are saying everywhere, from what I can tell.

  • Yeah. When I was playing episode 3, it seemed to me more like a movie rather than an actual game. But hey, that's my opinion.

Compare this 1,7 K number of players to a few MILIONS of fans. It isn't a matter that I don't have faith in this petition. Or maybe I don't have. It just... even this 1,7 K won't be enough and you know that. Besides it won't change anything, like I said earlier. Telltale won't change length of episodes during season. Maybe before TWAU or TWDS2 was released but now? Maybe you had a chance even after episode 1 or 2 but now it's too late.
