All the movie fans, talk about your favorit top 5 movies.
For me:
1.Forrest Gump:It’s the only movie that made me cry of laughter and sadness.
2.The Godfather:An Amazing film every actor in it is amazing al pacino and marlon brando are incredible
3.The Shawshank Redemption:Fantastic movie! Well acted, well plotted, well filmed. Such a beauty to watch over and over.
4.Casablanca:Probably the greatest love story to ever hit the screen.
5.Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back:It was tough to choose, but in the end...
Now talk about your opinion.

  • 1. Lawrence of Arabia - Methodical, mythical, and gorgeous.
    2. The Third Man - Carol Reed and Orson Welles at their most brilliant.
    3. Singin' in the Rain - Everything is just perfect.
    4. The Godfather Part II - Drama and violence at its most operatic.
    5. Das Boot - Best film of WWII, and may be the best anti-war film ever.

The first four never move. Depending on my mood, Duck Soup occasionally edges in at number five.

Good topic, but I can't help but think the whole thing is just an excuse to point to the linked DVD store. Cynical me.
  • My top 5 movies:

    5. Star Wars: Return of Jedi
    4. Godfather I
    3. Star Wars: New Hope
    2. Godfather II
    1. Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back

    I know, I know. I'm just a fan...
  • 5-Goodfellas
4-The Darjeeling Limited (Or anything Wes Anderson)
    3-The Shawshank Redemption
    2-American Beauty
    1-Requiem for a Dream
  • All movies mentioned so far are great. I couldn't narrow it down to five, personally. I've just seen too many movies, I guess. :-)
  • I won't even attempt to figure out a top-5 list.

Here's 5 incredibly good movies though:

    The Reader
    Shawshank Redemption
    Braveheart
    Die Hard
    Platoon

A pretty random list there, I could probably easily list ten times as many movies for a top list and still have more to spare.
  • 1. Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
    2. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back
    3. Schindler's List
    4. Casablanca
    5. Monty Python and the Holy Grail
  • 1. Lord of the Rings (the whole trilogy, extended edition, I count it as one film, big whoop, wanna fight about it?)
    2. Donnie Darko (either version)
    3. Army of Darkness (Bruce Campbell is my hero)
    4. Shaun of the Dead (so is Simon Pegg)
    5. Pirates of the Caribbean (Come on, it's basically Monkey Island: The Movie)
  • In no particular order?

    1. Hot Fuzz
    2. South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
    3. Who Framed Roger Rabbit
    4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
    5. All the Pixar movies (I can't decide)
