Which one is 4? Is that Brotherhood or Black Flag or something else?

4 has one of the, if not the most fleshed out characters in the series, the gameplay is varied and there are lots of things to do, the landscapes are beautiful, and it requires 0 knowledge from previous games So ye

  • I've only played Liberation on PS Vita and watched someone play about an hour of the second one. And honestly, the second one seemed really... Bad. I liked Liberation (never finished it), but in AC2, the graphics, animation, characters... I thought they seemed quite bad. Anyway, I know an hour isn't really much to judge a game by so I'll give it another chance at some point and get a little further to see if I can get into it. (But that's a while in the future, I've got about 6 games waiting to be finished at the moment...)

AC3 is heavenly story focused the first 10 hours or so btw

Why Assassin's Creed 2? Other than the story and setting. I am planning to get this or AC3.

  • .......Yes.

  • I sure as heck ain't posting in the selfie thread.

    (Oh wait, I already did)

    .......Yes.

  • At the beginning of Assassin's Creed II, there was this scene where this guy was in a big street fight, acting like it was some casual get-together whilst arrogantly calling out insults to some other guys.
I figured that he must be the villain of the game. Then the cutscene ended and it was time to play the game, but the character that you play as was this "villain guy". It was then that it dawned on me that this arrogant jerk was Ezio Auditore, the legendary Assassin that I always hear about.

In case you couldn't tell, I don't like Ezio, or Assassin's Creed II.
The gameplay was not as smooth as I would have expected.

So, I can't say that I would recommend AC II, but I know many other people would beg to differ.

  • my favorite is the one where they're in the wilds of madagascar driving a car, you know the one with the grappling hook and troy baker? i really love that one. oh wait that's uncharted 4? oh, okay.

    yeah i don't have a favorite assassin's creed game.

  • That's your fondest memories of Uncharted 4?

  • fucking hell yeah man. that shit was awesome

  • It's like saying Uncharted 1 is better than Uncharted 2.

The first one, because it's the first one. Would you start playing TWD with the New Frontier?

  • I'm not saying that AC 1 is better than AC 2 (altough it is, at least from the narrative standpoint), but that it's the one he should start with.

  • Ezio was unbearable in AC 2 and bland in Brotherhood. He's great in Revelations though.

  • I honestly liked Unity the most. Combat was great (pretty angry that they didn't make hidden blades and fists an available weapon though) and I liked the story more compared to the others.

  • Unity is criminally underrated. The only thing that really upsets me is the Modern Day story. Other than that I really like it. I'd even say that Unity is what AC 2 should been, considering all the similliarities between Arno and Ezio.

  • assassin's creed brotherhood

  • Well, Assassins Creed 3 is fun because rope dart? I mean, everyone hate on AC3, but I enjoyed it, and the rope dart is probably the most fun weapon in the series, and its only in 2 games (I dont count Black Flag since you only get it when the game is basically over)

I'm sorry I did not phrase it properly. Can anybody recommend me an Assassin's Creed game other than Blag Flag, Syndicate and Unity? Tell me what you liked about it. Dont tell me story, I dont care for it.

  • Except the story in Assassins creed is garbage most of the time, so that doesnt really apply

surprised no one mentioned AC Rouge yet..
I would say if you're looking for a great storyline with similar mechanics like black flag. Then AC Rouge is for you. Short storyline. But has some memorable moments and good storyline. It's also a prequel to assassins creed 3. It feels different when playing it, cause instead you're helping the templars (won't spoil). It's unique in my opinion.

Edit:nvm. Someone already mentioned Rouge lol.

  • Start with the first one. A lot of people treat the series like a anthology, but its not. Every game is a sequel of the other in the modern day scenes. "Oh, but i just want to see the past", well, sorry then, because the modern day is important to make the past have a sense. Altair story, Ezio story, Connor story, all of then are just complete with the modern day aspect. So yes, play at the start, with the first game. Play with calm, pay attention to the details, read the emails. AC is something unique, and treat as only a "action game" is disrespectful to the greatness of the series lore.

  • Well, I wanted a light hearted game with decent graphics. Which other AC would you recommend?

Also, I guess I am in the majority as I really like Ezio.

Its Blag Flag. Imo it strayed too much away from what Assassin's Creed actually is, I wouldn't recommend BF if you liked other games.

Seriously I can hardly care about the past stuf in AC without the Modern Day, is the past fun hell yeah but without the future storyline it just doesn't feel like Assassin's Creed. The idea is so freaking unique I am surprised it hadn't started cults yet.

All the story's in the first games are part of something bigger and have effect on the future and characters

  • Rouge's story while I think the story isn't really good falls apart if you haven't played the other games so if he buys Rogue for the storyline I really thinks he needs to play a few others first.

  • Nope. You ain't in the minority. Most lists rank Ezio as the first or second best assassin.

I noticed that there is a lot of negativity towards Ezio on Telltale, I for one love him, he is my favourite!

Ok? Have you ever met anyone who words all their opinions like this:

"In my opinion, Black Flag is great because in my opinion, the Templars vs Assassins storyline is shit. In my opinion, I'm glad that they mostly cut it from the game.

    rather than like this?

"Black Flag is great because the Templars vs Assassins storyline is shit. I'm glad they mostly cut it from the game."

People tend to state their views and opinions as if they are fact. It's human nature to inherently believe yourself to be right at all times unless you're proven wrong, and not even that makes a lot of people reconsider. Also, I might add that you did the exact same thing as the first user with your comment, the difference being that you swore for no reason.

  • yeah, AC without the modern day is simple not AC. I hated Unity and Syndicate for what they did with the modern storyline. Think that the modern day is boring is the same than play GTA skipping the cutscenes. Seriously, it sadden me to see to many "fans" acting like the modern day is just lose of time, when in reality it is the reason that make the games be so amazing and unique.

You know the funny part is also the Modern Day and the hole Pieces of Eden are the only BIG original ideas that AC stands out! without it it will just be a story that happened a long time ago and won't effect us in the future if you know what I mean.

  • Ezio evolves, That's what makes it good writing, people on here comparing ac 2 - revelations as a bad story are just plain wrong ... its the best story of ac and one of the best in gaming ,everybody can have their opinion but writing is like any other art form, there is rights and there is wrongs, and ezios transformation from an arrogant boy to a master assassin of a man is great writing, saying otherwise is like saying anf is better than twd s1

But we dont play for the story, this isn't TT's game. A good story is a plus for sure, but not absolutly necessary!
