What does A New Frontier do right?

  • it got better after the two (one really) dog-shit episodes. not that it was amazing but it was ok. like maybe a 7/10.

  • Having choices matter and that's about it

  • The choices ONLY.

  • I agree. An interesting dynamic, especially for Clementine.

  • I loved how well Telltale truly embodied the theme of family and the complex relationships in one. It just adds a whole 'nother layer of heartfelt realism and direction in terms of the entire TWD universe.

They represented the common Hispanic-American well. When most people think of Hispanics, I think they picture a distant sombrero-wearing, taco-eating people, but in AHF, the Garcias strike an uncommon balance as Hispanics living in America. Their nationalities are not exaggerated, and not neglected.

Yes, I'm going to be that one person who actually likes Gabe. I won't go too much into detail, but I guess with Clementine being this ultimate badass and all, people assumed that Gabe needed to live up to those badass expectations as well, but he didn't. He was a typical realistic teenager with good and bad qualities which made him round and constantly engaging, whether you were too busy yelling at his angst or rationalizing his thoughts. It doesn't matter whether a character is superman or not, but as long as they can engage an audience with something, they're good.

    Beautiful scenery and models.

  • Squishing my balls real tight. I've never been fucked like this before!

  • Fern's voice-acting is flawless.

No, but really; there's more than a few salvageable aspects in the season.

  • The sibling relationship of David and Javier. Well developed and authentic. I don't recall any recent media coming close in terms of sibling relationships in comparison to this.

One word that sums it up: complicated. Just like in real life.

  • Like I said: "I'm probably the only one here"

The camera zooms/shakes looks fucking stupid they are trying WAY to hard to overdramatize these scenes like it's a fucking TV show. Which it pretty much is at this point

    Having a likable protagonist.

    • Good protagonist
    • Choices mattering
    • Difficult choices
    • Flashbacks
    • Memorable characters
  • imo the only thing they did right.
The rest was a mess. Have to give props as well to the animators, especially facial animation they did a really good job with what they had but you can see they lost motivation towards the end.

  • Jeff Schine did an amazing job playing him as well.

  • It's my opinion, deal with it.

  • conrad/lingard being determinant and surviving the season, good death scenes for david and gabe, good voice acting, art style, graphics, some actual tailoring to the story due to choices

  • Who said you should have the same opinion as mine?

  • Tbh I think they could've still looked better but at least they did do something! :)

Improving Kenny's and Jane's models for Episode 4's flashbacks. They looked horrible in Episode 1.

  • Uniting fans together through disappointment and aggression.

  • Mariana- She was a pretty likable character. Telltale seems to have a knack for writing believable child characters.

Agreed, but they always seem to kill off the good characters, often early on (Pete :'()

  • Most of the season, honestly. The only things I had major problems with was how they handled Tripp/Ava.

  • Did you just forget the lies we got from those liars, lack of gameplay content, lack of character development, the poor pacing, the major plot holes, short episodes?

  • What do you want me to say to that? I still enjoyed it. Saying those things won't magically make me go "YOU'RE RIGHT THE THING I REALLY LIKED IS SUDDENLY SHIT!"

Kate cucking David was legit fucking hilarious and hype as fuck...

  • Kenny flashbacks.

  • This is me any time people point out shit wrong with the game. People can shove hard facts in my face and I'll still love ANF.

  • Conrad and Lingard surviving the whole season.
the ending where only Gabe survives because David s death was extremely well done same to Gabe s death scene if you go save richmond with Kate and Clem .

  • I'd like to point out that in the last episode, the (?) have been more unique then they have before. By that, I mean they weren't all just "He will remember that" or "she noticed that" or "they will remember this". The best one i think was when one popped up saying what Clementine decided to do before deciding to go after Gabe and David or help Kate.

  • Gabe almost looks photoshopped in.

  • ^ this

Javi's family, Kenny and AJ, how Clem met the New Frontier, and how she got separated from AJ

  • -I liked the relationship between Javi and David...I think the flashbacks for those two and the family were well done. Especially because of all the choices within the flashbacks.
-It was nice to see detriment characters survive and remain until the end
-Although they didn't show more to do with Wellington (which I think was a mistake), it was still cool to see various settlements thriving, Prescott especially as it seemed very free and like a decent place to live.
-The ending was pretty good...It felt like Javi's story was wrapped up nicely, while still giving some room to possibly have him featured in other games. I felt it worked well for Clementine as well, it gives me hope that they can improve more on the next game because of this. The ending in season 2 was too open ended with too many options to go in one cohesive direction. I think they did a better job, while still feeling like the options were different enough.

I agree with most of the negative feedback from the community, I hope they can fix their mistakes and improve next season. But I still enjoyed the story and main plot (even though it was short af).

  • Jane especially. Barely looked anything like her.
