MAC users install instructions - Episode 2

Hi guys,

For those who have had trouble installing "Starved for help" try this and everything should work okay.

Open the game and you will get a message to return to the telltale website to download an update.

Go to your account and choose the Mac icon from the "your purchases" section next tot the walking dead. This is not the second episode, just a vital update. It's about 550MB.

Then once this is done install the game by dragging it from the disk image to the applications folder.

Open the game and now go to Downloadable Content. Episode 2 "Starved for help" should have the word "Get" next to it, click on "Get"

You will now download from inside the game. Do not break connection as it starts again (I found that out at 73%, nice)

Anyway, hope this helps.

  • I want my money back. I would rather buy it on iPad.
  • With my slow internet, it has now been downloading for almost 24 hours... At 75%. If it crashes at 80 I'll try the lower screen resolution, but it seems allowing you to download a version from the site with both episodes already installed would be an easy fix. I wouldn't mind playing through episode 1 again if it means I get to actually play episode 2.

If you want a refund, pls show your hand in the thread asking for refund. If we don't rally the numbers TTG will think that no one is asking for a refund. And they think they can simply take our money and sell us defective product.
  • Wow, boy I'm surprised to see this thread still open. I'm on Mac as well. Finished Episode 1 and then tried to download Ep2. The first time it slowed down after 68% or so, crawling down to 0.01% per second movement. Then, it stopped completely at 99.50%?!?!?!? Frustrating. I had to restart the game. All of those files that were just downloaded? Gone! Now, it's going at it again, but it's dead slow. My internet is fine.

I actually haven't been able to see a support email address on TTG website at all. what is it? I'll also complain to BBB.
  • Hate to pile onto this, but I too can't download Episode II, and I just purchased The Walking Dead a few days ago. It always gets to 99.50% and then it just stops. After that the download seems to go haywire because it actually shutdowns my internet connection for everyone in the house.

I've tried like six times now. I've turned down the graphics, set the resolution low as it goes, ran the game in windowed mode, ran the game in full screen, deleted the temporary files in my application support folder. Never gets beyond 99.50%. And this is just for Episode II. Not looking forward to repeating this nonsense to get Episode III, let along Episode IV or V when they come out.

Looking at the dates of these other posts, it's ridiculous Telltale is still selling a Mac version of the Walking Dead while these issues still persist, let along refusing refunds. They should probably just take down the Mac version for the time being until they fix these problems. Or just offer us an alternative way to download the other episodes.

If there really is no way to get a refund or resolve this problem, I guess I'll just have to dispute the charge with PayPal, since I'm not getting the product I paid for. I would just like to find a solution. I really enjoyed the first episode, but this hassle has really soured me on buying anything else from Telltale.

Thank you. Downloading the files separately and putting them in the folders worked. Your thread really should be stickied as I wouldn't have found it if you hadn't posted a link to it in this one.

Unfortunately now I'm running into problems with choices not carrying over and Episode 2 just loading a black screen.
  • I tried booting up TWD today to see if they fixed the 30 min start-up problem but I still have it. Is it still there for you guys?
  • I'm french, i don't understand this workaround thing :/
Where's library on the mac ?
For the moment i twitted telltale, maybe it'll work ;)
  • To get to the library under OS X, open Finder, hold Option (Alt) and click on Go.
The Library will be there in the dropdown menu.
Find Application Support and then Telltale Games. Walking Dead files will be there.
