Retail Disc - Can't prgress to Episode 2

Bought TWD for my little brother (and secretly myself) for Christmas. Brother has been playing for a day now and he completed Ep. 1 and the game will not allow him to advance to 2. I've noticed this is a common problem and I have yet to see anyone from TellTale address the issue. Is there a known workaround for this yet? Or can any of the mods/Devs tell me if a patch/solution is being worked on? This game has gotten so much praise and it is beyond disappointing that a game with such a glaring issue can be released and go unaddressed.

  • I had the same issue however upon turning on my xbox live I was able to instal a system update and since then everything has worked perfectly and progressed to other episodes and chapters.
  • I exchanged the disc yesterday and the same problem exists, cannot go past episode 2. This has got to be the most frustrating xmas gift yet. There has got to be an answer out there. what is it?

    It seems like the only answer is to return it for a refund or store credit, if at all possible.

    I think that quickly turning around after the release date and returning the game for store credit was one of the smartest moves I made when it comes to videogames.
  • I still can't get the game to work properly on my brother's profile, meanwhile mine is working perfectly fine. The inconsistency is kind of baffling. I don't know if playing on a different profile fixes things or if I just got lucky though.
  • I think you got lucky. I have a friend who is the same way. He played start to finish, installing the episodes as they came out, with no problems. I, however, can't make it past episode 1 no matter what I do.
    It is both extremely frustrating and extremely hard to understand!
  • I'm using the xbla version and this happens...?? Im confused as to why it has not been fixed.

    If you have the retail disc version of the game and cannot load an episode other than episode 1, and are playing offline with an xbox live enabled profile, connecting to xbox live should resolve the issue. Unfortunately this is not the case when attempting to load a save from a later episode that reverts back to Episode 1. We are investigating both of these issues and hope to have a solution soon.
  • We were finally able to get to a place where LIVE was available and the issue does appear to be fixed. Sincerely hope it stays this way for good now.
  • Yeah it did let me play but as soon as I went home, (where there isnt xbox live service) it wont let you.
    Any help?
  • I WAS going to play and download this game an episode at a time. I finished episode 1 and downloaded episode 2 but can not get episode 2 to play. I replayed, redownloaded, signed in and out of xbox live. If before the end of today I get help and am able to play episode 2 I will continue to download and play episodes. If I don't get help I'll just forget the whole damn thing and I will be ULTRA SURE TO NEVER BUY AN TELLTALE GAME AGAIN!
