Black Screen with every episode aside from episode 1 [MAC] - Help required

posted by Fruit Snack on - last edited - Viewed by 767 users
I've been browsing the forums recently and have looked at most of the support threads and have yet to fix my problem. When I load any episode aside from 1, I get a black screen with nothing on it, not even a cursor. As per DjNDB's instructions I have attached the support tool file. I hope someone can help me as I've been REALLY looking forward to playing this game. I have the Steam Mac Version. Support tool Stuff:,1yui41t2aygz3gv,t3dq2ocm49l8acd,lrua01u7tdms5va,nie17gpmpp4iooy

You do have two active prefs.prop files.
Please run this script to fix it. It creates backup copies of both prefs.prop files, and moves the Steam prefs.prop to the savegame folder.

You might also have to delete the syncfs folder from
    /Users/rebbeca/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/SyncFs
  • No luck with the command, and I can't find Library in finder for some reason and therefore can't find the SyncFs

You can navigate to the folder by starting Finder, and selecting "Go/Go to Folder..." from the menu or pressing CMD-SHIFT-G, and pasting the path below into it.
    ~/Library/Application Support/Telltale Games/TheWalkingDead/
  • should I trash the folder or just remove it?

You can do it either way.
  • Also, I don't know if you'd know, but why in hell would they include this folder?

    Haha :-D Nice song.

The folder has a purpose, but something was broken in the .json files you had in there.
It's used for updates and downloading episodes in the version you can download on this site. I don't know why it's there in the Steam version too though.
