  • I remember when Bigby went home after the fiasco with Woody and Faith in episode 1, he looked at Bluebeard's file and says "never trusted that guy" . Im pretty sure Bluebeard has planned a mass scheme to get rid of Crane so he can take his place (kinda already happened) and then he will fire Bigby or make Bigby look bad so he can fire him and then fire Snow (maybe) he has the money to pay for people to do the dirty work. He just has to keep it under lock and key and he will get all the power. Money is power.

  • DAT FUCKING CLIFFHANGER!!! The next 2 monts is going to be hard...

No, it is well established that Crane is a creep and a Pervert, so that really is him. What we don't know is if he's the killer.

  • Well I think he might be the killer, When you were investigating the body They asked who she could be seeing and he answered : " A troll most likely" with that "Im lying" face. Also the bottle of wine in the room 207 is the exact same one which appeared in Episode 1.Snow was supposed to buy it for crane. How amusing.

And we didn't get to see how was bigby holding Crane over the witching well as it was in preview for Episode 2 , so I guess they had to rewrite a lot of the story.

oh wow... I didn´t even think about that. So I kinda thought the killer has just picked Lily (fake snow) randomly. But you are right. He is targeting only fables. I kind of just assumed the brothel had only fable hookers, which doesn´t really make any sense.

So the killer would have to definately know that the hooker is a fable... so what if those ribbons are just for fable hookers? The killer would imediately know who he wants to kill without really knowing anything about the person.

    BullseyeRey posted: »

Well, not random hookers. Both victims have been fables.

  • It aint Crane. I knew he had a Snow fetish, that was obvious. Called it early on. But he didn't kill her. Just because he slept with her doesn't make Beauty's conclusion that he also killed her true.

  • Honestly, I'm up to date on the comic, but I think it's been a while since I read the beginning. I guess this means I'll have to read it again... oh darn. :)

What do you mean? Bigby remembers it. He dislikes Crane a lot. In the comics it's stated that Crane was ousted from the Deputy Mayor position after sexual harassment claims were made against him by Snow.

  • I am 101% sure Crane isn't the real killer.Probably the guy in the photo was a glamoured Crane.I think that the real Crane got kidnapped after Bigby examinated the body, and a fake one went in hid place.I dunno,it's just what i think so far.I guess once i play the episode a few more times,i will get the hang of things. But again:Crane and Bluebeard are surely not the killers.

I was thinking more last night, how Beauty said "it's all so vague" or "it's all a blur." It makes sense to me that Crane used a memory wipe spell, like he used in the beginning of the ep, when he entered the open arms place. It just seemed weird that Beauty had such a hard time remembering...anything, really.

Having a Glamoured Crane in the photo just seems much less likely, given what we know about him in the comics.

  • If you've read the comics you'd know that crane was a scumbag who's obsessed with snow. I wasn't surprised when I saw it was him.

  • Bullseye is one of the few people in this thread who knows what they're talking about.

  • thats bullshit ND YOU KNOW IT!!!

Play episode 1 again or at least view the preview for episode 2 with Lawrence alive. He's not featured anymore, so story must have changed, hence the delay, preview differences and the episode 3 picture changing.

Ooooo good call with Beauty not remembering. Didn't even think of that! It was Crane then who played out his sick fantasies.

    However questions remain.

Who took the photographs? Surely Crane wouldn't be so stupid to leave them there. Was Crane caught out in one of his acts and being blackmailed?

Why was Bigby's brand of cigarette at the crime scene?

  • Plenty of questions, yeah. Still, I want to replay the ep, so the details are cemented in my memory. Can't get my console season pass to work, though.

Just finished a second playthrough. Wine bottle stuck out this time, which obviously points to Crane. I'm curious though, in the preview for next ep, Crane is seen getting into a car with a glamour, don't know if he plans to use it to continue his Snow White perversions, or to disguise himself as someone else.

Also, looks like I read too much about the Beauty thing.

  • edited February 2014

Crane is the real crane, he didn't want you to open that magic tube because he knew that would break the glamour and can expose him. Also his harsh response about trolls. In the preview you can see him having that magic item so there is a big chance he will use it himself to impersonate someone else.

  • edited February 2014

Yeah, I'm guessing Crane will use it to disguise himself, but who, specifically?

Also, I noticed a bottle of Antacids on Crane's desk, that seems like a strong link to him being nervous about the body being discovered (and its ties to him).

  • Clearly targeting fables. Why leave dead hookers heads at the door of where Fables live if not to send a message to Fables?

  • It does have instructions on it, why would Crane write down that phrase and attach it to the perfume bottle then give it to her? He could of just told her to put in on. I think someone set Crane up.

  • if it is crane who is the murderer, then it's not really crane - that's if the story is canon with the comics. crane's fate in the comics is different.

  • It occurred to me earlier that this could be further evidence in favor of the Headless Horseman theory. I mentioned before about the possibility that someone might be trying to set Crane up to look like the killer. So then I started thinking, who would benefit from bringing down Crane? The obvious answer is Bluebeard, considering that we see him trying to take over Crane's position in the Episode 3 preview. But that seems a little too obvious to me. Plus, if he's found to be involved in the murders, it wouldn't really make sense for him to still be walking around free in the comics, would it?

But then I thought, the Headless Horseman is Crane's traditional nemesis from the legends. It's possible he could be out for some kind of revenge. Unless I'm forgetting something, I don't think the Horseman's fate is mentioned in the comics, so there's no continuity there to mess with. And he's one of the fables Bigby can look at in the book of fables in Episode 1, which would make him the only fable mentioned there who is unaccounted for in either the game or the comics. And decapitating his victims certainly seems like a fitting MO for the Horseman.

  • I think after Crane's 'massage' he left but told her to wait because of the whole sleeping in a glass coffin thing. I think while he was out the muderer may have gotten to her unless Crane only killed Lily, still just a theory.

  • Bluebeard, pulling the strings from the dark. :)

  • Yeah, no, I think he's somewhat of a bad guy anyway. Maybe not the man behind it all but he's definitely not a good one. Think it's a bit obvious if it is him though, I mean, they've been hinting it all along so far so it has to be a twist somewhere, I'm sure. They fooled us pretty good with the first one (I got fooled anyway) and the picture with Crane at the ending of episode 2 was also unexpected - again from my part at least.

Can he really fire Bigby though? It's not like it would stop him... But I see your point. And I don't think you're wrong. I just kinda do hope though, that there's more to it than that.

  • In Ep.1 Faith says "I won't be doing this for much longer." Then apparently, well she was right I guess.. Did she like.. KNOW she was going to die or something? Or did she stage her death somehow so her boss would think she is dead so she wouldn't have to hook anymore? Idk it just seems strange to me that giving her all of your money and being kind was ultimately pointless if she really is just dead. But then I again, I've been told that Telltale does that, so eh.. Idk. Would love to hear opinions.

  • You also said that it was Crane that looks like a wolfman, even though Bigby is the only one in New York. That's why I didn't downvote or upvote. Also if anyone noticed Telltale changed the Book of Fables entry for Crane in episode 1.

he is not bigby he is crane .......... just look into my thread created last december (http://www.telltalegames.com/community/discussion/52356/new-killer-must-read-it) i predicted that it's not bib bad wolf it's crane

  • There is one question that is bothering me and I see no one asking: Who took the pictures? if it's Crane then why would he take a picture of himself doing that, and then why would he leave it on the crime scene? can anyone explain this? I guess we'll have to wait for the next episode to see, but if they don't give a good reason, this could be a plot hole that ruins the entire game.

Another thing that I noticed that is interesting, is that the two victims so far have been hookers, whoever the killer is, I think he is targeting hookers, and not Snow White necessarly.

What do you guys think about this?

  • What was BEAST doing at the whore house??

  • Wasn't shcoked didn't have clue who did it so when picked him i was like meh ok and still doesn't really prove for fact he did

Vol 5 The Mean Seasons. Cinderella (Fable town spy) and Bigby are keeping tabs on Crane, because they think that he is going to defect to the Homelands. Cindy gets crane to fall madly in love with her and makes him believe that she is a spy for the homelands, and get him to confess everything he knows about Fable town. In Cranes report/confesion he takes the piss out of Bigby calling him a "mongrel" and a "whipped cur" and then Bigby reads that there was an "extended rape fantasy about Snow".
therefore did Crane use a memory wipe spell on Bigby so he can't remember about it in the future?
