Jersey Devil isn't a Devil despite of his name he is a crypid and he was given that name by human he had other names to like Leeds Devil or Hoodle-Doodle Bird or Wozzle Bug

I don't think so Jersey overpowered Woody when he was in human form and in monster form he f*cked Woody up. Also Jersey is a crypid so maybe a crypid hunter sure wanna know how he lost them hope they explain it in episode 5
