Players with existing saves from The Walking Dead - Season Two playing The Walking Dead: A New Frontier on a different platform
If you would like to import a complete save from The Walking Dead - Season Two to a different platform than you originally played the game, you will need to download and install the latest patch for The Walking Dead - Season Two. An internet connection is required to download the latest patch.
Once your game is patched, you will see a new option to 'Upload' your existing save in the in-game 'Save Files' menu. The Walking Dead - Season Two save you wish to use must be a complete season save to import to The Walking Dead: A New Frontier. You will also need a Telltale account to complete this process, which can be created for FREE at anytime at www.telltale.com.
While most platforms that originally supported The Walking Dead and The Walking Dead - Season Two will support this save import feature, please note some differences on the following platforms:
- iOS - Due to platform restrictions, your local save must be uploaded to our website and imported through your Telltale account into The Walking Dead: A New Frontier before a save can be used to continue your story.
- Windows Store - Local saves are not applicable on this platform. Only save data imported from another platform through a Telltale account can be used to continue an existing story.
- Playstation Vita - Save importing is not available on this platform. If you played The Walking Dead - Season Two on the PS Vita, you can use the Story Generator feature to recreate your backstory.
To upload your complete season save from The Walking Dead - Season Two:
Launch The Walking Dead - Season Two on the platform where you originally played the game. Please note that your device must be online to upload your save.
Once on the Main Menu, select SAVE FILES:
Navigate to the SAVE FILE that you wish to upload. Please note that only one SAVE FILE may be uploaded and stored at a time.
Only a complete season save can be imported. Please note in the screenshot above where the save file is shown as 'Episode 5 Complete'. If your save looks different, like the one below, it will not be found later when you try to import it into A New Frontier.
After selecting UPLOAD, please wait for the data to finish uploading. This should take only a few seconds.
You can now exit the game The Walking Dead - Season Two.
In a web browser, navigate to Telltale.com/wd2save and sign-in to your Telltale account. If you have not yet registered for an account, you can join for FREE.
Find the save you uploaded and select 'Use Save':
The save icon should change to 'Save Selected':
Now open The Walking Dead: A New Frontier on your current platform. If you have not already logged into your Telltale account within the game, select 'Settings' and then 'Accounts' to log in:
Once back on the Main Menu, select 'Extras' and then select 'Import Save From Telltale Account':
Select 'Import' to retrieve your uploaded save. This may take a few moments depending on your internet connection:
If your uploaded save is successfully retrieved, you'll see the Success! screen below:
Select 'OK' to confirm and return to the Main Menu.
Once back on the Main Menu, select 'Episodes'. To import the save you just downloaded, select 'Continue Your Story':
Alternatively, you can select 'Start New Story' on this screen if you would prefer to play The Walking Dead: A New Frontier without existing save data.
On the following screen, you can choose to import your existing save, or 'Recreate' your save using the Story Generator.
To continue your story, select 'Import Telltale Save'. Please note that if local saves are present on your system, you will have up to 4 options to 'Import Save #' in addition to your uploaded save:
Once you are satisfied with your backstory, select 'Start Story':
You will be taken to the 'Episodes' menu where you can now begin Episode 1 with your backstory:
