In case you missed it, we’re gearing up to release our next title: The Expanse: A Telltale Series.
Like a lot of our previous games, it’s based in an existing world. This time, the work of James S. A. Corey (the joint pen name of authors Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck) and the television series adaptation of — you guessed it — The Expanse.
Set in a future in which humanity has colonized much of the Solar System, The Expanse explores the tensions between Earth, Mars, and those living among the outer planets — belters.
If you’re thinking that you need to have seen the television series or read the books before playing The Expanse: A Telltale Series, worry not! Our series is a prequel, set before the television series, making it the perfect jumping-in point.
Plus, if you fall in love with this incredible universe (which we think you will!), you’ll have a whole ton of other media to soak in and explore once you’ve finished the game, beratna!
So, now that you’re all caught up, on to the topic at hand!
We asked some of our developers to sit down and have a chat about what it’s been like working on the game, their creative process and how they’ve worked to create a game true to The Expanse, but still welcoming to first timers unfamiliar with the universe. Check it out:
You’ll hear from Frost, Iris, Martha, and Zak, as they talk about their experience building upon the pre-existing world, fleshing out locations, and delving into characters’ back stories.
Zak also gives a little insight into how the collaboration between Deck Nine and Telltale’s been going so far.
Spoiler alert: it’s been pretty great!
So, take a load off, kick your feet up and have a watch. We’re sure that whether you’re a Screaming Firehawk or brand new to the world of beltas and inners, The Expanse: A Telltale Series is ready for takeoff this summer, with new episodes coming out only a couple weeks apart.
And when you’re done, add the game to your wishlist and give us a follow on Twitter, Instagram or Facebook!
The Expanse: A Telltale Series launches this summer for Xbox, Playstation and the Epic Game Store.
